Just want to say thanks to Lou and the LG team for letting me be a part of thier team this last weekend in Portland. It was one HELL of a time. I got to hand it to Lou, that guy came from the back of the pack to 4th place. He was driving the wheels off of that car!
I have also got to hand it to Louis. That boy works his butt OFF! For someone as young as he is to be handling the workload he does is amazing. It was kind of tough being the new guy since no one on the team knew what my background was so I got tasked with alot of the little things. I just hope it helped make a difference. I had hoped to get alot of pictures for everyone but we stayed so stinkin busy it was crazy. Friday night we didnt close up shop till midnight and were right back in the mix at 630am. Saturday was qualifying day and just as busy. We had one of our cars go into the tire wall on turn 12, but was still able to qualify and make the starting grid. Both Keith and Kevin are still on a big learning curve but both of them did OUTSTANDING on race day (minus a "fender bender" on the 1st lap). Lou of course was going like a mad man after a penalty that put him in the rear of the pack. He sure as hell wasnt letting anyone get in his way either. More than one the SPEED officials were in our pit making sure other pit crews werent "paying us a visit" so to speak (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . Lou ran awesome and was holding a SOLID 4th place and gaining ground on the other 3 cars when the motor started to over heat on the last lap. He fell to 11th but was able to finish along with both of our other cars. I felt pretty bad for him, to have come from the very rear of the pack to 4th place only to have something go wrong. Been there, done that, don't care for it. I could write a 6 page essay on everything that happened and what it was like to be up close and personal with the C5R team, Lambo team, ferrari team and others but I am still pretty beat up and tired from the weekend. Maybe later. I just hope in the future I can be apart of the team again when they come back to this area. Thanks LG! |

The heat was borderline unbearable. On saturday track temperature was 147* (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) . During practice on friday I was the one taking tire pressures. When the cars would come in after a hot lap we would all jump the wall and get to work on the car. The first time I leaned over a put the pressure gauge on the tire the ambient temp was bad enough, then having your head right next to the smoking hot breaks was like sticking you head inside of an oven.
Just being able to work on the cars made the heat bearable. |

Lou put on IMHO the best drive of the day, right up until the car had problems. i saw him start to slow down going into turns 3 and 4, and i had sinking feeling that something went wrong. Anthony, what up buddy? Just a shout out from Purdue. I doubt I'll make a race but I never miss them on the TV. Come back and party sometime. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
