We decided to process the board upgrade to the latest version of the software tonight. We are still working out some of the details (sponsor banner, top menu bar, etc), but it should all be completed shortly. I apologize for the downtime and any difficulties. If you are having trouble with your account, please feel free to contact me (or post here) and I'll be glad to look into it.
Thanks and welcome to the new (and almost complete) frrax! Thanks, Kevin |

Some posts are getting mangled. For example, in this recent thread from the autocross section (Joe's ESP question) http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/index.php?showtopic=6868&hl= , some posts have been replaced by an "email" button where the text should be.

Those are the same posts I have problems with. If I recall correctly, at least two and maybe all of them had quotes, and the posts without quotes look fine. After looking around a bit in other threads (with a rather foggy memory), I think that may be a theme - some posts with quotes aren't working right, and posts without quotes look fine.
However, the quoted posts made after the upgrade (like those in this thread) look fine, and there's a quoted post in this thread from before the upgrade: http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/index.php?showtopic=6770 Another possibility might that be posts that were edited are causing problems, depending on how the old board stored edits. If that's it, a lot of my posts may be gone (no big loss, but possibly useful software debug info), since I edit a high percentage of my posts (I always proofread before submitting, but often miss a typo or three or don't like my wording once I see it "in print"). I haven't looked around enough to say this is the problem, just tossing out an idea. This post has been edited by sgarnett: Feb 23 2006, 01:24 PM |

I'm getting this error when I log in:
------------------- Board Message Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: That email address cannot be used as it is already in our records --------------------- it assigned me some strange email and when editing it will not accept my changes to my correct email. md |

Looks like it is a Firefox/Mozilla issue: I've got problems with the latest Firefox 1.5.0.1 but there are no problems with an old Internet Explorer 5.5 Ben |

The new posts have a different style than the old ones... That might be the issue. I'm looking into it. |

Scared me though when logging in last night....might want to have more warning.... We didn't have any warning on the hacking. The culprit threatened to crash the site, so we took it down to upgrade it and hopefully fix the exploit he was using. I got the spark plugs working again earlier... If they're not, I need to know about it. I'm getting this error when I log in: ------------------- Board Message Sorry, an error occurred. On the thread display issues... There is a tool in the ACP that I'd like to run, it will go through and update the post content, and possibly fix the problems with the quotes not displaying properly. The only issue is that with over 73,000 posts, it will take a while to run, and I'm not sure what will happen if I run it while the board is 'online'. |

Thanks for working to get it back up! |

WTF... someone tried to kill the site? Let me be the first to point a finger at those CMC mustang/ranger guys who joined the board a few months ago (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Seriously though, thanks for getting it running again. |

A lot of pre update posts with quotes are empty - just a EMAIL tag. Some others are still there, don't see a pattern yet.
Netscape 7.1 W2000pro I guess I should try updating my Netscape Was the background always this wimpy pastel blue? |

I find if I hit the reply with quote button to the mangled post I can see the hidden text that was only a email button. I have issues with IE and FireFox. |
