Just a note to anyone who might consider buying from Ground Control. Don't. Not only do they not know what’s going on with their "inventory" but they also need some lessons in the customer service department.

Apparently pushing the "Hold" or "Mute" button on the phone is far beyond their grasp because when my father called to check on an order they were under the impression that he couldn't hear him and called him a "weasel." My dad was polite enough to let it slide but if it had been me the order would have been cancelled to say the least.

I'll admit in my Discount Auto Parts days I've called customers worse than that, but they deserved it and I was smart enough not to do it in front of them. (Plus I was a punk teenager working in some store, not a customer service rep.)

This is what I get for trying to support the "little guy," next time I'll pay twice as much and get it overnight from Jegs. (Actually it's probably cheaper from Jegs.) Or at the very least, from someone who take my $500 and not act like they have down syndrome when I have a legitimate question.

Or just buy Ground Control stuff through another source and let them deal with the poor customer service. =) (Hi Sam!)

Actually I did buy it through Sam, but its been so long (not his fault) that my dad contacted GC directly to see what the hold up was.

GC once lost my order, I reordered the item and my order did eventually arrive. They are a low volume operation, but they could do a little better with keeping people up to date. However, they do make excellent parts!

My experience is I had a short discussion about what I wanted to do with the car to decide on the spring rates, and by Thursday of that week I had all the parts I ordered on Monday.

I ordered the front and the rear GC kit from them.

If you get any more positvie I'm going to go vommit. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/drink.gif)

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rant2.gif) IMO theire customer service really sucks, (as you have found out) but they make good parts, like Kevin said. But AFAIK the only company making something similar charges more, has heavier components, AND has sucky customer service.

I usually buy my G/C stuff from Sam, but that has only been the front kit, I traded my rear setup for a G/C setup so even though I have it, I tell myself I didn't actually give them that money.

I ordered GC through Sam and had a horrible experience. It wasn't Sam's fault, it was GC. GC sent me the wrong part after two months of waiting and were arrogant enough that they wanted to talk to me. Sorry GC but there is a slight difference between 3rd and 4th gen coilovers. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) They were also very insulting and unwilling to ship via air when discussing the initial mishap over the phone. My car was down for around 2 months thanks to them.

Unfortunately there is no other comparable $ option for the front. I don't know what it is, but the import guys that order from them seem to have great experiences.

Ditto...ground control really sucks...they lie too...I'm waiting on my order from them that I ordered through Sam and they tell me that Sam doesn't order from them...Bull. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Right now they are back ordered really badly. I've been waiting 2 and a half months now. I have half a mind to drive half an hour down to their office since they are local to me to tell them off. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I'll use their stuff, but if anyone else ask. I'm using something else. No way in heck am I going to help promote their business.

I ordered springs, weight jacks and camber plates directly from them last winter. I haven’t had any problems with them when I’ve called with questions. The first time I called was 3 weeks after I ordered and they were able to tell me that they were waiting on materials to build the front weight jacks and that it was due in that week and I would have the parts in a couple weeks and I did. The next two times I called they were able to answer my questions on fitting the parts. They may have cursed me off the phone, but I’ve never heard anything.

The only bad thing that I can say about them is that I went with the spring rates that they recommended and I think the rear is too stiff, but that’s it.

Actually, I think Sam now even orders through a middleman for Ground Control stuff (at least that was the case for my weight jackers last year).

Hi,

I do not order direct from Ground Control. I get the same experiences as a few of you had (and in a sad way I'm glad it happens to others). So I found it easier to let someone ELSE deal with things when they get that way. Also the vendor I buy from buys more than I do and hopefully would have more pull, AND I get a slightly better price *not* going to Ground Control Directly..................

Sounds like it's about time I started working on getting all the necessary parts together to do the coil-over stuff on my own.

It's a shame, as the parts are nice and work. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Anyway, I'm sorry for the issues. They are out of my control as I think you can see (not saying I'm perfect, but more often than not, it's not me when GC is involved). I appreciate you patience and patronage folks!

:stupid:

Yeah the quality of the parts do seem good, but the people at GC are kinda rude. If you do make em, most of us will probably buy yours instead, the problem right now is that there only a couple people making it and alot of people buying it, so they probably don't care if they piss off one or two people. I understand that you are doing your best despite that, and appreciate it.

On a tangent, it does seem like ground control has less issues with their import stuff. Why is that?
