F-Body Road Racing and Autocross Forums _ Classifieds _ SS Camaro Torque arm 4th Gen $100

Posted by: fbodyjunky Sep 9 2008, 04:02 PM

Very nice shape SS Camaro torque arm. Paid $300 plus from the dealer. Asking $100 plus shipping.

This much stiffer torque arm will put a stop to rear wheel hop under braking AND help put the power down smoother.

I don't want to whore up your thread, but what is different about an SS torque arm? I thought Z28 / SS used the same unit.

Nope, the SS torque arm is much beefier. It only has one hole, and is made of a thicker metal. Weighs more as well. Really keeps that rear end planted.

Thanks for asking!

Hmmm, my the torque arm that came stock on my SS does nothing to prevent brake hop. Chevy must have put on of those Z28 torque arms on by mistake rolleyes.gif

If I recall correctly, SLP had a welded tube torque arm. Was that ever an option on the SS? If so, is that what is being sold?
