Here is a little background on what I am doing....

I started The Open Arms Agency, a non-profit foster care agency in Corpus Christi about 10 years ago. We have 35 foster homes in South Texas that care for injured, abused, neglected and sick children that have been taken from their families because the families are a danger to the children.

Every year we have a Christmas party for the foster children, the foster parents as well as the foster parent's children. This is about 150 children. We buy Christmas presents for all the children.

Unfortunately, this year the state has made some cuts that have left us a little short on the funds that are set aside for the Christmas presents and party.

Therefore, everyone involved with the children are reaching out to friends, family, and business associates to attempt to raise money to help fund the purchase of Christmas presents for the foster children.

We added a link to our website that allows any donation to go straight into a special fund set aside just for this purpose. We need to raise approximately $2000 to purchase toys for the children and food for the Christmas party.

We have children that range in age from premature babies all the way up to 18 year-olds that are getting ready to graduate high school.

So, there is the pitch. Check out the website. If you are feeling generous, there is a link for donations. The donations are tax deductible because The Open Arms Agency is a Non-Profit Organization. If you would like a receipt for tax purposes, make a note in the comment section of the donation form and I will make sure you get one.

Thanks guys.

Do you have a Paypal account?

Making it easy for contributors would probably get a lot more participation that having to write a check and mail it.

OK ... I went there and didn't read anything about that link being to Paypal. I hovered over the "DONATE" button and it says it, but no where in the text of the page does it refer to it.

Thanks. Donation sent.

Anything will help guys. This is going straight to the foster kids.

We are setting up a Car Show/BBQ here in Corpus Christi as a fundraiser on 11/29. I know most of you are out of the area, but everyone is welcome to show up. We are going to get a lot of local cars and racers to come out and have some great BBQ.
