So.. First off.. I'm all about buying from site vendors.. I've purchased stuff from at least 4 different vendors here... about to buy engine components from a 5th.

BUT...

I've had quotes from 2 different vendors on a Fidanza flywheel.... around the $400 mark after shipping, thunder wants $360+shipping, ls1speed wants $340+shipping...

But, check this out.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FIDANZA-ALU...tem150223867422

$275 shipped, awesome feedback, and LOTS of it.

Should I not bite? What am I missing?

I really am fine with paying a couple extra bucks to frrax vendors... but, it's $140+... that buys me a remote bleeder and then some.

I support a sites vendors when it's fiscally responsible to do so. That includes spending a few bucks more to get a product.
That's a lot more than a few bucks difference though.

Maybe someone will price match...

I would only caution you to make sure (as much as you can) that this is a genuine Fidanza piece. I have personally bought things off of e-bay (not flywheels) listed as genuine "brand-x" and they turned out to he cheap knock-offs. I am not saying that this is the case here but at that price, you should at least check to make sure.

I thought similar things as well... and that's kinda why I mentioned the large amount of positive feedback... I figure that someone would have said something in 38k feedback replies if they were knockoffs.

Its worth the shot... I bit.

Not to beat this to death but in one particular case, the seller indeed had excellent feedback. Unfortunately, you leave feedback when you receive the item not necessarily after you install it. If there is a time lag between these two, you are simply leaving feedback for shipping and delivery time, not the quality of the piece.

I guess you are as much of an ebay hater as I am (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Fidanza does list these guys as distributors...

http://www.fidanza.com/DistList.aspx?id=CA

Like I said... I gave them a shot. I can return it if it's not to my standards within 30 days, minus my shipping costs. Who knows... maybe everyone here will buy buying from the guy in a couple weeks (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

A quick look over their ebay store it doesn't appear they carry the LT1 version. I've actually been wanting an alum flywheel for a while...

When I needed a new Centerforce DF (after I got sick of dealing with cheap $#!+) I called Sam at stranoparts and he told me that Summit was like $100 cheaper and he couldn't do any more and to just buy it from them. Thing is, Sam is a racer on a budget just like a lot of us so he "gets it". Usually he's competitive, though.

Hopefully this Fidanza deal works out, it's a great price.

I have a Fidanza for LS1s that I've been trying to get rid of forever. It's brand new still in the box. I'll match this Ebay person's price if that's what I have to do to sale this one. I just want it gone as I have zero use for it since I have an LT1.
