F-Body Road Racing and Autocross Forums _ General Discussion _ Interior bedliner

I'm considering pulling the carpet out and lining the interior with a bedliner (Herculiner). As anyone done this? Just curious if there are any issues/pifalls.

Unless you have a very specific purpose for bedliner in the interior (like hauling gravel), I would not recommend it. Burning rubber is very nasty stuff, normally when a car is prepped we toss any rubber or plastic that the rules allow to be removed.

That, and after a while, the stuff oxidizes pretty quickly, so 1. it'll get hazy quickly, and 2. you'll be working around it, and it'll rub off on everything.

Yeah, I suppose sitting in a tub of burning rubber wouldn't be much fun. I'll just leave it bare. Thanks.

Consider Lizard Skin. It's pretty pricey, but in my AS it lowered the interior temperature and sound level a bunch. At the end of a race the floor is very warm but it's not "real damn hot". It is very durable and cleans up pretty easy. I painted both in top and bottom of the floor. I wold recommend it for any race car or even a street car that your going to carpet.

I know this is an old topic, I just wanted to add an opinion.

I applied bedliner to my wife's Cherokee a few year ago, big mistake.

I used upol raptor which is a great product... Anyway the floor boards would get extremely hot and her purse actually stuck to the floor one summer day. Not only that it's really noisy. I'd go with lighter weight carpet if anything
