I might have a part you can use.
I snapped 4/6 of my y-pipe studs when I tried to fit my new car sound OEM replacement y-pipe. When I removed my manifolds to try to get the studs out, the manifolds were warped. I gave up and bought some SLP headers and put them on with the Car sound cat. So I have an extra y-pipe. It is made by carsound / Maganaflow. It is a replacement for a '93-97 single cat camaro. It is the stock dia, but has smooth bends without wrinkles. It is 409 stainless steel, 409 is still printed on the tube. It has the three bolt flanges and flared ends that fit the stock manifolds. I also have the stock 95 single cat OEM converter with 90k miles and 10 replacment GM y-pipe studs and nuts. You could hollow out the cat, and you should replace the studs they snap like candy canes.. I don't know if the fit will be better or not, but it would be a good starting point for a custom setup. Most aftermarket y-pipes would be larger tube this is the stock 2 1/4. SLP is 2 1/2. The smooth bends would flow better also. I would send you the whole works for $75.00 plus shipping. I have the factory box, all I used was the converter since it would clamp to the SLP headers. Let me know if you are interested. Z28 |

Quick question... i see you stated it's for 93-97, but would it work for a 98/ls1? not sure how different the y-pipe setup is. Thanks

Thanks Hi, Thanks for the interest, but I don't think it would work. If you are sure it would work then I could sell it to you, but I don't know how to check the fit. Thanks Z28 |

Thanks Z28 I thought Mitch was buying it? The cars are completely different. It will not fit. It may as well be for a Mustang, it's about as close to fitting. The LT1 uses a pipe that runs under the oil pan, the LS1 uses a pair of pipes that run to the rear and join under the transmission. If you do an LT1 swap in the car, you'd be able to use the pipe, but you'll need the LT1 exhaust and motor, manifolds, etc. Sorry. |

You are just too fast on the keyboard for me (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) , most likely true on the track also (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/burnout.gif) . I was just responding to all of the emails, I hadn't checked the thread for a day and I was surprised to see four posts. Thanks Z28 |

I have everything in the picture minus the cat. The cat is a 3" slip fit onto the y-pipe. I was luck and it fit my SLP headers with a walker band clamp. http://www.car-sound.com/catalog/directfit...aspx?PartID=376 |

Unfortunately, I have no e-mail access at work. So our conversation about the details only happens in the evening.
I feel confident that the exhaust will be in my possession in short order. |

Thanks for the interest in the y-pipe. Mitch is going to buy it, so it is off the market. If anything changes I will let you guys know.
