Rear fenders look too much like previous generation Mustang's.

Grille openings look out of proportion, should be smaller. Wonder if the RS-style grille is returning? If it was flush-mounted I bet it would improve aero numbers.

Looks like the whole engine will be visible when the hood is opened. I like the cowl hood, not too high but hopefully functional. Oops - just noticed the opening at the leading edge of the nose.

Car will probably look great as a convertible. Hopefully no T-top versions will be produced.

2009 Camaro plus LS7 = Modern ZL1, anyone? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Not bad...but it's going to weigh more than 4th generation Camaro unless they plan to reverse modern trends. GM can't even make the solstice weigh what it should (2500-2600lbs). I'm calling weight for the Camaro between 3600-3800lbs and cost around $28K. And no I won't be buying one or any other GM or Ford vehicle... had enough of "American" vehicles with my '98 Camaro.

Looks like a "Goatvette" hybird of the present GTO and Corvette with a little Musturd thrown in. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I couldn't get the link to the video to work, but I was entertained by Gordon Murray's writeup on the technical analysis of the Bugatti Veyron:

sounds like someone who hasn't yet driven a y-body....

but i agree on the weight thing. but many other companies are worse on weight than GM... like BMW. Look how heavy the Mini is... But yeah, even with carbon fiber front fenders and hood they couldn't get the C6 Z06 to weigh less than a C5 Z06 without the carbon fiber hood.

and what kind of lead do they put in the camaro doors? The doors aren't metal and they weigh 5 times as much as the doors on my y-body. There is an easy 30-50 lbs on each door they can get rid of (or at least that's what it feels like).

2006 Mustang v6 starts under $20k, so hopefully GM will price the base Camaro the same comparitavely by 2009. I don't know if Ford dealers are marking up the Mustangs however.

I hate the front end of the Camaro concept and I've looked at it a couple times now. As far as I'm concerned this is retro done right!

It just looks too ... um ... big. Like they took a firstgen Camaro and added 5-inch-thick foam over all the sheet metal and sealed it with laquer.

I call it in my garage when they come out, hopefully anyway. Only think I don't really like is the gigantic egg-crate grille, but I'm gonna reserve final comment until I see the production version in person. So far they've got me though.

Bravo GM

It looks better than the first few spy shots I saw. But MAN.....PLEASE, PLEASE fix the front grill area and the interior....

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rant.gif)

Have you seen the ACTUAL photos on other sites of the ORANGE goofy looking interior....THAT would be IMPOSSIBLE to live with.... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

Good point about the interior. The seats look good, everything else has to (and probably will) go. Often it seems like interiors are the one thing where the concept will differ from the real thing when its this radical.

Went to Long Island once with a friend and his GF. She rode in the back of the car all the way up and back. She had no problem with leg room (she was small but not tiny). Her only issue was the lack of a window to look out of. Pretty claustrophobic back there. Way up was at night so not as much of a problem.

Yes they are of limited use, I'd rather that than a 4-door camaro a'la dodge charger, though! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)
