More than a few Mexican drivers. They eliminated four turns.

The sponsored Bud link was nice though.

I was watching the Rolex race last night with the Daytona Prototypes and GT class. I think they left out the same section. Is the part in question right after pit exit? I saw a bunch of white lines that could have been the chicane, but there was nothing there to keep the drivers from driving right over the lines.

I'll have to watch and see if I notice a difference.

Mea Culpa to all and NASCAR. It is the Infineon/Sears Point race where they took out a set of turns.

Here it is:

"In 1998, ýThe Chute,ý a new high-speed straightaway that connects existing Turns 4 and 7 was officially opened during a press conference on May 5. The re-design of the road course shortened the circuit from 2.52 miles to 1.949 and increased the distance from 300 to 350 kilometers. The re-designed course will be used strictly for NASCAR events."

My apologies for the confusion.

IAE, the Mexico City race should be entertaining.

The Bud link to the SI NASCAR approved Racing edition is, in the words of Dana Carvey, "special". It features Nextel and Busch series approved racing swim suits. Undoubtedly designed to achieve weight savings.

Steve

I've been PM'd to death for the Bud link to the SI / NASCAR racing site (racing swimsuits, that is). The NASCAR site takes you to here. NASCAR is "all-american" so I guess it is too. OK, here it is:

Totally against my better judgment, however.

Sadly,

Steve

I think this is an interesting race regardless of configuration... ...not to mention that Boris Said is my favorite driver across all forms of motorsports. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/2thumbs.gif)

I'll be watching.

Sears Point with the Chute....is a JOKE....

NASCRAP should lose its right to stage races for destroying a world class track like that.....and dumbing it down you THEIR level.... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif)

It looks like they're using the chicanes after the pits, so it should be a harder course than the rolex race yesterday!
