Several months back I ran a HPDE with the BMWCCA at Barber. I ran in AI trim except for switching to some hand-me-down 295 R6's. It was a blast picking on all the BMW's. The Camaro definitely got some interesting looks...haha. I ran a best time of 1:38.8. Here's a few laps before she started starving for fuel.

You scared more than a few "race" Beemer drivers passing where you did LMAO. I get the same looks in my car, the WTF!? Looks. What gear and trans is in your car? I only use 3rd and 4th gears there, where you use 2nd and 3rd. I have a 3.42 gear and a stock trans. My best laps so far there are 1:49's with a broken LF shock on NT-05's. Here I am back in March http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfFDSB6wzrc I will be there Nov 2-3 with REZOOM. This post has been edited by FASTFATBOY: Sep 17 2013, 12:12 PM |

Thanks! It took some getting used to going back to a HPDE, but I had a blast. Very relaxing weekend without the pressure of racing.
I'm running 3.23 gears with a ST-10 4 speed with 2:43 first gear. |

It is with the new suspension, between the brakes and the suspension the car appears to be a full second faster around Road Atlanta. I have no basis for comparison at Barber as this was my first time there with this car.
The biggest improvement with all those changes has to be the brakes and wheel hubs. Virtually zero pad knockback, and I've run all year so far on one set of brake pads. They should get me through the end of the season too! I'm off to Watkins Glen in 2 weeks, then VIR 2 weeks after that. First time at both of those tracks for me. I'll be sure to post videos! |

Wow, 38s is fantastic. Just look at the old records from when NASA Se ran there the one and only time (back in '07 I think). You're roughly 3s quicker than the old AIX record and 5s quicker than the old AI record. Sure the rules have changed since then, but its still super impressive. Watching your video, the level of grip you have is phenomenal. You've built an impressive f-body Will, and you know how to drive it too.

It's been a fun car to build and race over the past few years. It's going up for sale at the end of this season...tough to think about, but it's time for a change. |

How much power do you have Stukas? It's substantially detuned to 325 RWHP 340 RWTQ in this video. I've run it like this for 2 years. I've since switched to a truck intake to choke the top end and fattened up the torque curve. I was able to put some timing back in the tune which really helped it run cooler. Now it's 336RWHP and 345 RWTQ. I've added 100 lbs. of ballast since then to make up for the extra power. Now at ~3050 race weight. |

3050lbs race weight?... that is... with you in the car?!? That's with me, a passenger seat, cool suit cooler and 40 lbs. of lead. It can run at 2920 race weight, but the motor is so detuned when it's that light that it tends to overheat. The car alone with no fuel is ~2725 lbs. |
