I know this is primarily a F body forum but i know a few people other than me here possibly own C5 or C6 corvettes and are looking for a shifter box replacement. I found this guy last night on corvette forum rebuilding the lower shifter boxes for around $100. I thought it might help a few guys out ill post a review when i get mine installed. Here is his thread

Every manual Corvette I've ever driven is has had more slop in the shifter than I would have liked. Even with most aftermarket shifters the slop in the lower shifter box is never addressed. It doesn't take many miles to wear out the torque tube and shaft bushings, I've seen some as low as 30,000miles that are just falling apart. Reason being these are in fact wear items, that's' just all there is too it. I rebuilt my first lower box on my C5 with about 80,000 miles on it, it's over 200,000 miles now and it's still as tight and smooth as it was the day I rebuilt it. I'm a CNC Machinist by trade I've done a few other boxes now, and I am confident enough to offer the service and back it with a lifetime warranty.

Here are a couple before and after videos and some pics, feel free to ask me any questions, shoot me an email for fastest response. Thanks for looking.
