For sale: 1993 Camaro Z28 road race car. The car is a completely “turn-key” operation. Just add gas (and tires) and go. This car has run a certified (timed) 1:35 at Mosport, in August '09, and will do so lap after lap (and that was with "me" driving!). Originally built to run in GT Sprints, I have only used the car in SoloSprints the past couple years.

Specs are as follows:

Drivetrain:

- stock LT1 350 from a '97 Z28 (w/“shorty” headers, makes approx. ~300HP)
- Borg-Warner T56 w/B&M Ripper short-throw shifter
- 3.23 ratio Auburn “Pro” diff (new in '09) w/factory style Ram clutch (new in '08)
- super thick, dual 1” core aluminum rad (new in '09). Running temps range from ~180°F - 190°F at Mosport, to the low ~200’s at shorter tracks. Dual electric fans (manually switched, can be run individually) have no problem keeping the temperature at ~195°F even while idling HOT on track (I know this from experience!).

Brakes:

- Fronts are C4 Corvette, 13” rotors & calipers, fitted with Hawk Blue pads. Very grippy for this car.
- Rears are stock LT1. I also have a complete set of brand new rotors to go with the car, as well as a fresh set of Blues.

Suspension:

- Koni DA shocks on all four corners w/Ground Control coil-over adjustable sleeves.
- Front springs are 650lb Eibachs, rears are 175lb.
- Sway bars are 35/22mm F/R, hollow, from Sam Strano.
- Spherical / rod-end bushings in all lower control arms, and rear panhard bar.

Interior:

- Fully gutted and caged (from GM Players Camaro).
- Momo Corse racing bucket, with brand new RCI SFI 16.1 rated 5-point harness (good until October, 2011 - still two full season’s worth).
- Built-in fire extinguisher with nozzles on the driver and in the engine bay.

Exterior:

- All factory glass removed; front & rear windows replaced with lightweight Lexan. Factory hood replaced with lightweight fibreglass hood.
- Rear spoiler replaced with (very effective) aero wing.
- Custom air-dam / splitter, and ducting to the rad.
- With all of the weight removal, the car weighs in at 3038 lbs, with full fluids. Compare that to over 3500 lbs stock! With "only" ~300 HP, it's a very nice power/weight ratio.

Misc:

- 22 gallon Bicknell fuel cell.
- AMB transponder.

Unfortunately, I will not have time for the car this year, and hate to see it sit.

Asking: $10,500 obo. (CDN$) 16' tandem axle open trailer also available/negotiable (only with sale of car, not on its own).

Very motivated to sell. Have many extras that I can include as well. Must be seen to be appreciated. You can contact me via PM, e-mail (peterlines [at] rogers [dot] com), or phone - 9 0 5 - 2 4 0 - 1 9 3 5 - for more details.

Thanks for looking!

Pete

Bump for a good car.

1:35s at Mosport. Could be faster with a better driver. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Good luck Pete.

That's ok, Doug. That's why we have "vintage" racing ... so the vintage drivers can still go out and play (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) . The G70 class is for "Greater than 70" years old, right?? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Damn smart ass kids! LOL

Some of my parts are younger.

Truck is loaded and after I shower I am heading to Mosport. Scott and I should have some good duals.

TTT - Car is still available!

It's currently on the trailer, ready to roll (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) . Just bring your tow vehicle with a 2" ball and hook-up! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Seriously, this car is turn-key condition. Add gas and go!

Keep in mind, price is in Canadian $$.

(Almost) Spring Bump!

My racing plans for 2010 have drastically changed, so I'm getting out altogether for awhile. I hate to see the car sit ... rather see somebody get out and use it.

I think there is still enough life left in the Toyos to turn a few more laps, if (time permitting) somebody wants to see the car out on the track, in action (if a suitable track day could be arranged).

I am very motivated to sell the car, and will consider any serious offer.

Let me know if you're interested.

Pete

Proctor?
The little birdy never said anything about Hallet.
Just that the Car might have been purchased by a
RMR future AI racer....

Methinks a little birdy might know something (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) . I hope this car makes a nice addition to your series (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) .

Francis~slow, maroon, rookie driven 4th gen. Well, that was last year. Still slow though.

I figured any new AI car in RMR would bring the heat to Hallett with the rest of your crew.
