I'll pass the word around, Mitch.

Either way, I'd like to come race with the Texas boys once next season. My cousin will graduate high school in Flower Mound next year, so there will probably be a graduation party in July or August if I had to guess. So, hopefully there will be something close the weekend before or after. I'll have to see how the money tree grows in the off-season. Preceeding some instructional strings with the F-Bomb gets folks attention.

These help as well ...

"Do that again and you'll have blood on your hands."
"You are to the anti-driver."
"We have Vettes, Scions and a Yerf Dog. The dog fits your driving style."
"I've never seen that done in a vehicle with just 4 wheels."
"Can you discern between asphalt black and lawn green?"

We could have used you this weekend.....

And, when parking a trailer at night, this one is particularly relavant:

"Can you discern between asphalt black and lawn green?"

After loading up the car, I backed the trailer in and lined it up, and then realized that I was on the grass and not the concrete pad. I was looking through a tinted rear window in the dark and could only see the outline of the concrete pad. I just picked the wrong side of the line to park it on (the grass was darker, so I assumed it was asphalt). Oops.(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif)

Ya know, I remember being real tired and asking you where you were going to put the trailer. When you proceeded to line up perfectly on the grass lane between concrete pads and shoved her back... I thought "smart ass". Apparently you're just blind as a bat... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif)

I had just said "Screw it, I'll park in the grass if I have to"....

Factory tinted glass and it being dark outside are my excuses. I'm not too blind, I lined it right up....just on the wrong side.

And, yes, we did have a blast. I wish that more of you guys had made it out (up, down, over, etc) to play. Maybe next time. I'm up for doing it again, I just have to see when and how much my fuel cost will be and cross check that against the fun money budget. I spent $450 on fuel in 2 days and I know Chris (CJ-TA) had to have done far worse than that (and Andy too).

Wow, I thought the expensive part of owning a truck and trailer was the truck and trailer.

And you would be incorrect.... I towed just under 1,000 miles and 11 gallons for the track (50 minutes of track time and about 120 gallons of fuel total).

Stan,

The main reason I skipped the Nevada ORR races this year was fuel costs. 3200 miles round trip to Northern Nevada is between 400 and 500 gallons of diesel. Then I burn 12 gals of propane a day running the generator on the RV when I am there.

It gets expensive. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)

Ok, more correctly, the expensive part of owning a truck and trailer is the new desire to go to track events that are +1000 miles away (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I won't even dare try to guess how much I spent in gas.

I know that I filled up 4 times from ft worth to harlingen on the way home. headed into a 30mph head wind, the truck was barely able to maintain 60mph with ~1150* EGT's.

ok, a random guess.. a 'fill up' for me is both tanks on my F350.. lets call it 34 gallons bone dry. I was running one tank 'dry' and tried to not go below 1/4 tank on the other.

3 fillups from harlingen to dallas
4 from dallas to nashville
4 from nashville to dallas
4 from dallas to home.

15 tanks at ~$80 average = ~1200. ouch.

I had planned on $1500 in fuel alone.

next time, ill ship the car for $500 each way, and fly (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
