Premium, white with black (sorry, it's DARK CHARCOAL!) leather, 18" wheels, 3.55 posi, sirius, both interior upgrad pkgs, and GT Appearance pkg. Love it so far, really nice street car and it handles decently given it's bone stockness.

We actually traded in my fiancee's 2002 Cabrio. Now she drives the 330xi and this is my daily. The truck sees towing/hauling duty mostly anymore. Insurance is only $64/6 months more for the 'stang than the Cabrio. Being old has its advantages I guess.

WRT the new Camaro, you guys can work through the initial inventory, get the oddball first year (see '04 GTO, '93 Z28, '05 vette, etc) and pay all the dealer markup. I'll get a 2010 for supplier price the way I want it. I struggled to find a car I wanted at the Chevy dealer. I have a good relationship with a local Chevy/Cadillac store, but in the end I couldn't come up with anything I could afford and wanted. I just couldn't swing a CTS-V or a 'vette right now.

Also, that Cabrio was on the verge of some major work being needed. It was due for a timing belt, a CV boot (inner) was beginning to split, it had an airbag light on (again). VWs aren't what they used to be. The car had to go.

Have about 300 miles on the disgust-stang and it's a fantastic car. I swung it through some twisties last night and it's a little wallowy in the back, but overall it's great for being completely stock.

I hear you on the Mustang being a nice car. I drove an 07 V6 and my only complaints are that it had the throttle by wire and in turn, lag, and that it didn't come with anti-lock brakes - WTF? Knowing that a lot of teens buy Mustangs, I'd think ABS would be standard. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rant.gif)

As for purchasable, affordable GM cars, I kinda like the Saturn Sky Redline and Pontiac Solstice GXP... if you can afford to give up 2 seats. Supposedly, MSRP on the GXP is $26,515 - and about $2k more on the Redline. Even with a decent markup, it will cost less than my WS6 did in 2002.

I figured that ABS would be std. on the V6s. That sucks, it should be. I autocrossed someone else's 'stang and the ABS was fantastic.

I'm right there too...been putting ~70 miles a day on my '07 S197. The only complaint I have is the ridiculous throttle response lag. I programmer and a tune solved the on-throttle lag, but off-throttle I think its still ridiculous. Programmer (Brenspeed) said thats as good as they can do without resulting in faults.

Three years from now the Camaro will be about affordable...and this car will be about ready to go.

The Solstice is a pretty nice car, but the total lack of truck space makes it a non-starter for me. The Solstice trunk makes a miata look like a crown vic.

That is CHEAP for a GT model Mustang......can only H.O.P.E. and pray the Camaro will be in that ballpark.

Currently that is a flawed assumption. It's in my garage. But if Mike drives to Toledo, he'll take the car back to his place afterward.
