Hey folks, those of you that ordered a 35mm hollow bar from Sam may want to crack the box open and look at the bushings. Apparently Addco shipped some of the bars (one of mine included) with 1 1/4 bushing(s) instead of the 1 3/8" bushings it should have. I thought those of you that were waiting for a rainy day to do the install should check now to be sure you have the correct bushings.

Both of mine say 1 3/8" on them and fit the bar nicely. Guess I got lucky for once.

So far I am the only one I know of that has had the issue, so perhaps I'm the unlucky one.

How much weight does this bar save you over the solid 35mm bar?
Thanks, Steve |

I'm not sure with regard to the 35mm solid, but it was exactly 5 lbs lighter than my Addco 32mm Solid.

I didn't have any problems with my install. Everything looked o.k. with the bushings.

I just ordered one from Sam too. I hope it helps over my 32mm.

Are those measurements in terms of diameter?
I just looked at my bushings, but they didn't have any markings on them. |

At least you guys got yours. The bars I ordered still haven't shipped. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

It's a bar OD or bushing ID measurement I believe. The marking is on the side of each of my center bushings. You'd be able to see the markings on one side of your bushing even with them installed I'd think.

I think I may have the wrong bushings as well.
With all of them (and washers) on the endlink bolt, there's not enough bolt to go through the bar and have room to screw the nut on. |

QUOTE (93RedDevilZ28 @ Apr 15 2004, 06:01 PM) I think I may have the wrong bushings as well. With all of them (and washers) on the endlink bolt, there's not enough bolt to go through the bar and have room to screw the nut on. This thread is about the bushings for the brackets that hold the bar to the chassis, not the endlink bushings. Your problem is "simply" that with the car on jackstands and the wheels drooping (instead of using ramps), the holes the endlinks mount in are not parallel - it's not related to the mount bushing issue. I left a tip in your other thread that may help, though. |

Hey Jason...
Might you do me a favor, por favor..... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Can you photograph your swaybar (the 35 hollow) if its still not on?? I'd like a top view and a side view so I can compare it to my 2nd gen bars. After seeing some of the other cars that can take a 2nd gen bar (like an Impy taking a rear and 3rd gen taking a front)....if I can loose this 1 1/4" solid I have for a hollow....I'd be all over it....its gotta weigh in at close to 30 lbs... Thanks Wayne |

Here's a picture I took of my 1LE 32mm vs. the 35mm hollow bar. It's not all you're looking for, but hopefully it helps.
