You can all shun me for not buying an SCCA rule book yet. I thought I had the right info but it turns out I may have been led astray. I got my info from this site http://www.azsolo2.com/classes/ModificationsSpreadSheet.htm This site is now defunct and I can't verify what i read here anymore. The question is concerning wether I should be in SM or SM2. I SWEAR the spreadsheed on the link above said no engines larger than 5.7 liters in SM, and SM2 allowed engines up to 8.0L or something like that. I'm now reading and been told that SM2 is for light small 2 seater cars and that I should be in SM. is this correct? If I've been in the wrong class all summer I'm going to really feel like a jackass but I'm contesting that I was fed the wrong info. I'm sure someone here can point me in the right direction. Feel free to point and laugh if necissary....

SM2 sounds fine to me. You can run an SM legal car in SM2 if you want. FWIW I don't know if your car is legal for SM, but if you want to check go here:

Howdy,

The displacement limit in SM was removed. Your car (at least in that respect) is legal in SM or SM2.

(no need to buy the rulebook, just download it here: http://www.scca.org/documents/Solo%20Rules...7SoloRules.pdf)

I ran my 2002 in SM2 and could have run SM with it instead. All of the Subaru's were in SM, so I took SM2 to get away from them. I wound up with MR2's, Corvette's, 350Z's, my Camaro, CRX's, and all kinds of other stuff.

Thanks for all the help, links, and info, you guys are the best. I obviously have non-stock displacement, heads, and cam. Hell I've even got a non-stock trans, brakes, and seats too. Anyway, it sounds like I've been in the right class. I slid through the posted link to the rulebook over lunch today, I'll look over it closer later. thanks again guys.
