I have a 1991 305 TPI Z28.
I should probably swap in a L98 or a carb motor that spins 7k RPMs but how much power would I get, or would it even be worthwhile to put an LT4 hot cam in the 305 and port the stock heads? Thanks Evan |

The engine would work but it would need a tune for sure and some other parts. You'd have to make sure you change the valve springs/retainers/seals too, the stockers won't work with the .525 lift of the Hot Cam.
Also, the TPI intake will choke power off up top. I have a 220/230 cam (a hair bigger then the hot cam) in my motor and it worked alright, but the TPI intake starts choking it off over 5500 RPM and it's done pulling by 6000RPM. |

Thanks Evan 7k rpm with a TPI, that's a good joke! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif) I'd think that 350 hp would be the most you could possibly get out of that motor. maybe. |
