Maybe we can all chip in 10k and get a timeshare thing going.

I had to "add it to basket" just because I could. I wonder if they'll take paypal? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Here is another interesting Corvette race car (and a little cheaper too): http://www.corner-carvers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36320

What?
No way.
That's the car that was warren wallaced into the turn 3 armco at Road Atlanta recently.
Can't be worth more than the old Vette on cc.com.

I seem to recall that some of the c5rs were being sold for more like 200k-300k. Surely the c6rs aren't twice as valuable.

Both nice cars! I'd prefer the C6R myself.

Somehow I think it's meant tongue in cheek, you know how you can add it to cart, and the reason is quoted as something like "the mrs. says we have to clean out the garage" or something. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I'll bet that beast makes that same hellacious roar that the old Can-Am big block cars did!! I'm guessing that they limit the revs to 6K because the inlet restrictors (and the subsequent optimized cam/timing/tune/valvetrain) prohibit them from making any more power at the MUCH higher revs we all know those Katechs are capable of screaming to before grenading??

Speaking of which, I am just amazed at the power they make through those itty bitty inlets. I mean just look at them...

Also... am I alone in thinking that those tire temp sensors are pretty damn awesome?

Ah, so that's what they are... Before I scrolled down I was trying to figure it out.

Yeah, they look to be smaller than a silver dollar. I've heard estimates of upwards of 950 to the wheels from the Katech built powerplants with NO inlet restrictors, and the proper cam/timing/tune!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/gr_eek2.gif)

And you're far from alone in thinking those sensors (infra-red??) are SICK!! So much for 'low-tech'<--(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) American engineering. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/icon_lol.gif)

regardless of who engineered it, the parts were probably built somewhere in Asia and will one day be available at Wal-Mart.

$650k and not streetable? no thanks. Mine is about 1/10th the price and wil give both of those a very decent run for their money with a SBC 327ci outting down 540rwhp and an 8500 redline. And I can acutually still drive on the street. http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show...752_21_full.jpg
I know of that red IMSA Vette, that was a very nice balanced car with a decent reputation. I have ben around the Greenwood Vette many times in life. I should mention I was born and raised around Thunder Alley (Isky, Guldstrand, Traco, Etc) and my father and Dick Guldstrand have been very good friends for well over 45 years now. I happen to be one of Dicks original GRA club drivers in the mid 80's on his competiton team in this car and still own it today. I am also to this day still very good friends with Dick Guldstrand- recent shot from last weekend at the LA Autoshow. http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show...52_159_full.jpg

Don't let the license tags and Leaf springs fool you, this car is deadly fast and I have clocked over 165mph downt he front straight at Calif Speedway 2.8mile road course and a lap time of 1:41:27. THis car has also clocked a 10.89 1/4 @ 134 mph spinning out of the hole at LCAR back in '89. It has also taken 2nd place in the open header competition 'twice' over the years at Route 66 and campaigned in many other areas including car shows.
Calif Speedway @ over 165 walking away from the pack as recent as 2004. http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show...752_54_full.jpg

You could have alot more fun with that 650K than wasting it on one car.
