Who else is going?

I'm going to go with old tire's(the way I allways run) I can't miss this though! Unless JWL says my DNF and 3 race's are not good enough to run (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

If I get to run, I need to know a few things(i'm at work, and the connection is sloooooooow)

Is the track easy to find?
Where is the Motel 6 at in Willows?
Any good place's to eat?
Is there any AI/CMCr's that stay at the track? I'm not bring the RV and I don't have a enclosed trailer, so i'm worried about the stuff staying at the track.

It also appears that there is no driver's meeting that Group B has to attend (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) at least not on the schedule.

Any other things I need to know about T-hill?

Thanks

Easy as pie to find.....

Highway 5 to Willows.....take Highway 162 east (main street exit)....it is about 5 miles east of 5.

Plenty of budget hotels....but they fill up fast for SCCA events.....call early....I used to stay at the Super 8

Eat....OK small town fair.....my mom likes the Chinese restaurant across from the Super 8

T hill is a cool track!

Glad you're going to make it John! 2nd Willows exit, turn left, 7 miles - right after the the road does a long gentle S bend over a hill. I put the cruise on 55 for that 7 mi - local cops know we pay our bills.

For motels - same exit, turn right - at the stoplight you can turn right for the $$nice places or turn left for the dives - I've tried them all and prefer the Super 8.

Food - Steak place on Tehama and south a few blocks (used to be Franco's). Denny's, fast food, Black Bear is supposed to be good. Truck stop across the hiway from Walmart. The Golden Pheasant has a bar and mediocre but convenient restaurant.

Lots of folks stay at the track - showers/concessions/ etc are good

Check with Tony G - Group B usually has a meeting at his trailer daily.

You're turning in too early, except for 9, where you're turning in too late.

John, why wouldn't you be allowed to run?

I've never been to Thunderhill, so I've got no advice except for good luck with that long tow (the long tow being the A number 1 reason that I've never been to Thunderhill).

The restaurant across from wally word at the airport is pretty fair . There's normaly several inclosed hangers opened at the airport I wonder if they would rent for the week end?

As a rookie, you have 4 provisonal race's that must be ran in the reigon that issued the rookie license. And NorCal has had trouble with rookie racers having body/body contact. I'm not to thrilled about bending my car up for one more position on track. DAMM THATS AN OLD MAN TALKING (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif)

My buddy is letting me use his brand new 08 D-max, that is lifted and all tricked out (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/2thumbs.gif) So the drive shouldn't be to bad!

No $$$ for that kind of stuff. Right now i'm trying to gather $$$ for new tire's! It's really easy, I can just put it on a creditcard, but I hate racing on credit!

thanks

John, I am planning to run in CMC2. The Best Western Golden Pheasant has a special rate for CMCers, you can get that if they still have it, or go to the Baymont across the parking lot, nicer, more $, has a NASA racer deal. Everyone eats at the mexican place at the Best Western on Friday night, so go there and we'll give ya the low down. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It's a bummer you missed the other 4 cars from Blain Fab all within steps of each other!
