SOLD!!!

I'm trying to get rid of some cars. Besides the black Camaro (still for sale), I'm also selling my 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS coupe. It's the not-so-common Sedona Red, a 2-door five-speed, with about 113,000 miles.

The car has brand new tires as of 3/21/2008 (nothing special, just some "performance all-season" Fuzions that were relatively cheap on Tirerack), and a new left rear wheel bearing and lateral link on 3/26. I recently replaced the center differential bearings (February 2008), the battery and alternator (the weekend before Yule), and the clutch was done in November. Both front hubs and bearings were replaced in October. I also replaced both O2 sensors last fall, but I'm still getting an intermittent P0420 CEL (though it did stay off long enough that it passed Maryland emissions the first week of December). According to DPSTuning (who does most of the heavy work on the car), the cat code is a common problem on these cars.

I bought this car in March 2007, and it came with some parts already installed, including a Wilwood caliper upgrade (it takes WRX rotors), and I replaced the rotors and brake pads last October. It also has SPT shocks/springs, an SPT front strut bar, a rear strut tower bar (not sure of the make), larger front and rear sway bars, stainless steel brake lines, an old-school JC Sports CAI and a cat-back exhaust.

It currently has an aftermarket stereo system (Sony Drive-S single CD, XM ready) with a amp and a sub in the trunk. I know nothing about stereos, but Justin Rest (my 2007 co-driver), who used to work in the industry, tells me that the amp is a good one (five channel Alpine), and the sub is an MTX.

I am looking for $7000, but will entertain other serious offers. No trades. I am willing to work out delivery options.

I'm located in central Maryland (Frederick), but I work in Gaithersburg (DC area), and I spend time in the Baltimore area (Arundel Mills) too. Any serious inquiries can be sent to kiirenza AT gmail DOT com, or you can call me at 240 409 6759. That's my cell, and since I teach, it will be off during the day, but you can leave a message.

Karen

Yeah, that's Keefe Lee's. He does okay locally, but usually gets spanked when National level drivers show up.

I still haven't sold the other Camaro. If I sell both the black Camaro and the Subaru, it would leave me with the green Camaro.

I'm not planning on anything. I can't plan on it when I can't even sell the two cars that would finance something else, but then again, there really isn't anything out there in my price range that appeals to me -- most of it is just plain ugly or slow. And I'm kind of veering away from used cars after the Subaru and the problems I had after buying it (from what turned out to be a pretty underhanded dealer). The only codrive offers I had were for ladies class only, in cars that I just had no desire at all to drive, or they wanted so much to drive with them that it just wasn't worth it (to me).

So, as much as it frustrates me to admit it, it looks like I'll be staying home for the season (after the Dixie Tour, where someone else set up a codrive that I'm really not even looking forward to now... if I can even make it down there, with the weather).

I put new tires on it today, and updated the mileage in the original post. I'm taking the car to Blacksburg, VA for a potential buyer to look at (thanks, Mark!), but I wanted to make the updates in case that doesn't work out.

Sale was a no-go, so the car is now listed on eBay and Autotrader.com.

Sorry the sale didn't work out. I got to drive a 2.5RS in STS trim for the first time in several years at a driver's school we had a couple of weeks ago. I had forgotten how much fun the cars are.

Hope it goes to a good home.

It's okay. I'd prefer driving three hours to show the car and have him know he doesn't like it, than to buy it sight-unseen and be unhappy with it.

I probably should have posted it on eBay earlier. I have had quite a few serious inquiries in the last 24 hours.

i wonder what you guys are up to, between you and pat you have 3 cars for sale at the same time. I know it's a bit early, but do you want to share your plans with us? You guys must be up to some master plan here...

I for one think that the plan must have a Z and perhaps an 06 in it.... or maybe an S and a TI in it....

Good luck with the sales pat and karen and whatever your plans are... I'm sure you'll be fast.

Our plans don't at all coincide with each other's. Mine just started this weekend when I found out a certain car was for sale. And that's all I'm going to say about it until my car is sold. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Naaa, he just made this decision spur of the moment (though I egged him on). If either of us wanted a Z06 or an STi, we wouldn't have to cooperate with the other to get it anyway. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

My impetus is the lack of a competitive ride and the need to drive something of my own. And I doubt Pat will want to drive anything I end up with anyway. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

If anyone knows ANYONE that might be interested in either of these cars, PLEASE pass along the info. I've known both Pat and Karen for a quite a long time now. I can vouch that Karen maintains the crap out of her cars. I mean, just since the original post for the Subaru she's only put in new differential bearings and new tires.

As for Pat's car. It be quick. Any stock LS1 that's trapping 109 and running 13.00 on real, honest to goodness street tires. Sheeh. And if it helps, the front Koni's on the car have won a National Championship. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

And today, it was a left rear wheel bearing, which had the mechanic cussing up a storm when it was discovered that one of the previous owners had evidently hit something while backing up (a curb? a rock? who knows...) and bent the lateral link on that side. So, new lateral link too. Oh, and new bolts to hold it all together, since the old ones needed to die to come out.

Yes. I'm a stickler for maintenance.
