Is there any interest in a GP on Aerocatch hood pins? I would need to sell 6 pairs to make it a go. Please let me know if you are interested. PM, email ablaine (at) cruzio (dot) com, or call me 831 427-3296 evenings every day.

retail is $86/pr no lock, or $96.75/pr with lock, flush or plus flush. If we make the order minimum I could do 5 or 10% off that, shipped free in the lower 48.

Do you have a recommendation on flush/plus flush for a 4th gen hood? Also, do these work on a 4th gen rear hatch? If so, which ones work best in that location?

Thanks,
Cody

Definitely use the plus flush on the hood, and anywhere there is restricted backside access, or structural ribs under the panel.

For the hatch, the trick will be to find a flat enough spot - might work on top of the spoiler, out next to the parting line. Probably need to extend the pin vertically with a threaded sleeve.

There's some discussion in this thread: http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/index.php?showtopic=9848

I'd be interested in however many I'd need for a complete pin-on hood. Four latches?...

...but won't be ready to purchase until next month.

Yes, 2 pair is minimum for a pin on hood. If it is not rigid enough across the front then 1 more pair, or some composite reinforcement.

Next month may work

I'm game, saving a little bit of money is a good enough excuse I suppose.

OK, looks like we have enough interest for a go: I can sell for 8% off list, and I will cover USPS shipping in the lower 48. Outside the lower 48 I will have to charge actual shipping cost. For shipments in CA I will have to charge sales tax.

Please help me fill in this list, and I will PM you with a request for PayPal payment. I'd like to target getting all the payments in by Aug 1, and I would be able to ship them the following week.

PM customer 1pr +flush locking and 1pr +flush non-locking MO

C3SS 1pr +flush non-locking TX

v7guy 1pr +flush locking NY

93FirehawkTA 3pr +flush non-locking GA

New PM customer 2pr +flush non-locking? MI

Anyone else? GP will stay open till I place the order.

Thanks and regards,
Alan Blaine

I have been interested in these for a while, but always assumed they were made out of 6061 aluminum. I don't think I would trust plastic latches to hold my hood on, with the ORR and land speed racing in my future. Is there a "metal option?"

The plastic housing carries a stainless steel lock pin that engages an aluminum conventional style pin, so the engagement is metal on metal. The plastic housing is what connects the tension loads from hood surface to metal pin, and has enough surface area that I would be comfortable for an ORR car.

Aerocatch does have a variety of products, check out their website (be patient) and there may be a different model that you'd feel better about. http://www.aerocatch.com/

Order placed, they will ship to me today, I should be able to package and reship them to you all Fri. For those who ordered other stuff with the pins (a special Thank You!) I'll bundle the pins with your order where possible.

Thanks everybody!

All the pins shipped Fri - except C3SS: I will get your other stuff done next week and ship together. I used UPS for most of the orders, PM me if you want your tracking numbers.

The Aerocatch distributor reminded me that WD40 is recommended on the pins to prevent sticking - I didn't have an issue with sticking on the parts that I installed, but apparently someone has.

Thanks!
