Had a blast at Road Atlanta. Vettes were the predominant car there this time. There were only 2 other fbodies. Wasn't able to get any lap times as the battery was dead although the timer said it was at 80%. Timing off the video is about 1:56. I would have been just a little faster but I had a little shake that started at about 110mph, so I didn't push it any past that.

I tried the Hawk HT10 pads on the front and they did well, no fade and surprisingly little dust compared to the HPPlus. I also had some new Kuhmo Victoracers (shaved and heat cycled) that did well also. I was one of the faster guys in my group, I was never passed and passed most of the other cars. I would have been one of the slower cars in the A group, so if I move up I'll have to get used to being passed.

Tony,

I guess you just went on Sat that is unusual? Anyway, I was there on sunday. Only 1 f body, the one that is getting prepped for an AI car. I run my z06 since my camaro was not ready. You 1:56 will be little on the slow side in A, I was running a best of 1:41 and normally 1:43-1:44. That said, I don't now what kind of setup you have, but I would bet a stock fbody could break through the 1:50's driven hard. At roebling I was about 6 seconds slower than in my z06 if that is any indication. If you are only going up to 110 that would make a big difference. In the z06 I am hitting over 150 and braking at the 3 mark. Not sure about a fbody, but I would guess 130-135

In the past I've hit 130s on the back straight, but I didn't feel comfortable with the little bit of shake at 110 to go faster this time. I usually just go for Saturdays, but didn't even consider Sunday since it was Mother's Day.

I was going to try to get on with NASA as an instructor and go to RA but did not do it, as I am out of town during that time. Maybe next year. Heading to Viper days in July at vir!
