Some of you may have seen this, others may not, but Dart is considering building an LT1 SHP block, available in either 4" or 4.125" bore, and already clearanced for 3.75" stroke. A block has already been dropped of to Dart for measurements of the front cover, etc. This would be great for anyone that has an LT1, and would like to build a 400+ci motor. Personally, I would love to build a 427ci LT1, and with new heads now coming out recently for the LT1, such as the Darts, and the upcoming 21* TrickFlows, it seems the aftermarket is starting to see that more LT1's are being rebuilt now that they are coming of age.

If the pricing stays in the $1500-1600 range as the SBC SHP blocks tend to go for, then this would be a great option as opposed to spending nearly as much machining a stock block for a 383/396 build.

Dart has just made this block official. They will be making a SHP LT1 block beginning soon.
