This is Race #6 of the Grand Bayou 08-09 Race Series. Going into the day, I'm racing in the GTO class, just 3 points out of the class lead. At the start of the race, I'm on pole. As you will see, I quickly get passed because I was stupid and didn't protect the inside line. I was trying to run a fast line and get away from John Brannan in the 1994 Z-28.

See the spin on lap 13? Notice how slow I'm going for the rest of the race? Well, over half the tread on each rear tire (2 race old V710s) was still on the track. And, both had lost pressure by the time I got to the pits.

But, I managed to bring in a solid 2nd place finish. Even better, I regained the points lead! Going into the season finale (a Double event April 18-19), I'm 1 point in the lead.

BTW, that Camaro is for sale for only $12k. Please, someone buy it and take it out of the state!

NPR ... sweet!

Glad to see a few additions of run-off concrete in some areas where drivers were prone to "cut corners" if you know what I mean.

I think John ran with us when NASA-Texas was there in 06. He kept throwing his exhaust at us! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Yup - that would be John! He's been throwing torque arms at us for a few races. Unfortunately for me, he didn't throw anything this race. Grrrr.

Yeah, we've got a new road course owner and they've made some nice improvements. It's a very safe and accomodating course now. Not many places that can bite you, though there are a few.

Hope you can make it over here again. Or, hope I can make it over there soon!
