I almost called a tow truck to get my car home from today's autocross. the throttle cable let lose on me crossing the finish line at WOT. Luckily I had some cable/zip ties and jerry rigged it to get me home. The ball on the cable pulled out of the plastic cup that sits on the brake pedal lever. I could just barely accelerate to 25mph and used cruise to accelerate from there since it has it's own cable. It was fun hitting "resume accel" after every shift or when I hit the brakes. I just about wore the cruise out-I don't think it was intended to take the place of the accelerator pedal. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Note to self: pushing the pedal through the firewall does not make the car go faster. I had that habit when I first started autocrossing and it must've fatigued the plastic over time.
