I now have 175,000 miles on my engine and I have this fear....

I need to go ahead and find a used LT1 that I can go ahead and start working on. If anybody knows of one or hears of one, please let me know...

I know a woman with a '93 TA with 40X,XXX miles (serious commute). She drives it like she stole it too. She has all of it's regular maintenance done and swears that thats the reason for it's longevity. The car's nose is one giant rock chip, but she loves it like the day she bought it. I have a used short block minus the cam, timing chain cover and lifter stuff that I have been asking $200 for. I have a couple guys that have been toying with buying it, but neither have produced any money yet.

The cost to ship might make it more than it would be worth for you though.
