The only part I don't like is that you're not covered in the pits/grid... can't get everything I guess.

With Heacock, does that include theft too? And just to complicate that, will the car be covered if it was stolen while in the pits? Granted it may not be moving under its own power at the time but it would probably be driven away!

Their intent as I understand it that there is no coverage while racing, so they define racing as the car moving under its own power while at an event as a registered participant. Granted sometimes grid can get a little wacky, but I'll take my chances in grid, versus Route 1 traffic at rush hour.

I'd have to read the fine print or ask, but I'd think theft is covered under any circumstance, unless I get carjacked in the middle of an autox run. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I specifically asked if my car, trailer and gear was covered against theft or vandalism. I was told and have read in my policy that it is indeed covered.

I travel over night to a lot of venues and the rig camps in motel parking lots. I wanted to make sure I was covered.

One of the questions I asked was about being towed while I was a participant, registered at an event. Say I run into another car while being pushed or pulled. My car is covered. The other car ... no. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) If I am pushed into MY trailer, car and trailer both are covered.

It's a very simple and straightforward policy.

I would like to take credit for discovering Heacock, but a fellow racer turned me on to them. Just paying it forward.

Their premiums are pretty simple as well.

Under $10K policy requires very little documentation
Under $25K policy is $250/year
Under $50K policy is $500/year
Under $100K policy is $1000/year

See the pattern?
