My name is Mike and I just wanted to say hi everybody! I have a 99 Camaro SS that is my daily driver but recently talked to some SCCA guys at the DC auto show and decided to go dual purpose with it. I've autocrossed before and i loved it and plan to continue. My SS is nothing special but has all the standard bolt ons engine and suspension. I'm about to do the C5 brake swap and fill it up with super blue fluid. The main problem I have is the Riken Rapter tires that were on the car when I bought it. I have a pair of 555R drag radials but no extra wheels tho I still plan to swap them out before racing. I also own a decently built Toyota Land Cruiser, a Chevy Beretta soon to be my daily beater that I've spent way too much time and money on. My wife drives a G35x which is an amazing car but it is staying stock, at least one car has to be totally reliable! Here's a link to my cardomain http://www.cardomain.com/id/mikedamageinc

Welcome, but you didn't need to go all the way to DC to be persuaded. Beach Cruiser is from VA Beach too. 200,000 miles on your engine?

There are a couple of us in VB. The local autocross groups are on autocross.us, some run at ACU-4, some at Langley, and some at the old Pungo airfield. Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome!

I have almost 210k on the Camaro and it runs great! I've done a engine oil analysis and a compression test both with great results.

I've been to ACU-4 once and it was a blast and I'm trying to make the one next month there. DC is closer to me but I get to visit and stay with friends and family in Hampton Roads so on race day itself, it makes for a shorter drive.

I'll have to check out the autox site, thanks for the tip!
