I found this site through LS1Tech and was very happy to see a place that catered to the Track and Auto X crowd with the 3rd and 4th gen F Bodies!
I'm not terribly new to the game, but am green when it comes to 4th gens! I cut my teeth on cars with a 1968 Firebird that I started to restore when I was 14. I still have the car and sometimes still daily drive it! (IMG:http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e197/Pzary3233/After.jpg) (IMG:http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e197/Pzary3233/FirebirdSpoiler4.jpg) Then I went off to school had a truck then killed it, used the money to buy an '02 WRX. I then played with this for a long while prepped it to the extent of the Solo STX rules and had a blast! Never made it to a national event but had a lot of fun regionally. This car also got me hooked on HPDE Events! I loved the car because I was able to mix a lot of stock parts with ground control products and some konis and get a GREAT competitive suspension for a lot less than what most people were paying! (IMG:http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e197/Pzary3233/202b1966.jpg) (back in the Stock glory days) (IMG:http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e197/Pzary3233/DSC_0130.jpg) Home brew strut with much more travel than most lowered Subarus! Best part it was still STX LEGAL! While rocking the WRX as a DD back in stock forum I bought an M3 Shell and a truck load of parts... Assembled the parts and well... (IMG:http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e197/Pzary3233/1104081158.jpg) It's an M3 in a Box! Great car has some fun but the stupid motor kept blowing head gaskets and overall just giving me fits... So I sold it and ended up with it again... It's now going to receive an LS1 or Aluminum 5.3 with a T56. Then a couple days ago I picked up a clean 99 Z28 through work with less than 80k on the clock, it's pretty much stock except for the ZR1 wheels and Exhaust. It has been hit on the front but not hard. Best part is we have parts laying around to fix it! Pictures this weekend! It's a white on black leather interior car, LS1 and a 6 speed. Sounds great need to get some rollers on it and see what it will do! It was originally going to be the donor for the M3 but it's too clean and it would be a great little toy with a small amount of love. So there you have it, I just want to learn as much about these cars as i can so I can formulate a good plan of attack and have a great well sorted car. |

Welcome! There are a lot of helpful people here. There's a good perma link in the suspension area for what to do. Sam Strano has won nationally multiple years and his company sells pretty much everything you need for a national-level ESP car, except seat time. ;-) He gives excellent advice too!
FWIW Koni SA shocks were the best upgrade to my 01 TA ever, I highly recommend them. There are a lot of other guys with track knowledge as well. Me, I usually ask more questions than answer them, and sometime just add my experience to a thread FWIW. Chris |

I learned the magic of Koni SA and DA shocks a while back! I'm actually reading through the Sticky now! Thanks! Paul |
