I used the cheaper mount from IO port and found the video to be a bit jumpy for my camera. I'm trying the larger mount to see if that resolves it.

Intersting and ingenious.

One thing to consider, the camer will be inside the car, looking out the glass ... a darker environment peering into a brighter environment.

Cameras like the GPH and FLIP average the light it take in.

So with the stock focal length, the field is more windshield and less interior. Go with a wide angle, that changes dramatically. You very well could end up with a washed out field of view through the windshield and a dark interior.

If I mount my GPH on the hatch glass, this is exactly what happens.

It works for that dude because he's cycling and has no interior.
