On a tubular space frame with composite body, yuk thats ruined it for me not a proper car then.

BTW as an aside I have one of the 15 Penske IROC Camaros from 1977 in my yard, one day I will get around to renovating it. It has a Banjo Matthews chassis and is car Number 11.

Hmm....I'm the opposite. Once I went tube frame everything became so much easier!!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

A buddy of mine has two of the original Penske IROCs and a ton or parts...interesting.

Well its why IROC went over to tubular frame as they couldnt get a consistant set up with the road car based 2nd gen and the idea was they were all to be the same. My car is a 2nd gen IROC car Number 11. There was some joker advertising Car number 11 on a website and I had to take the site owner to task as I definitely have no. 11, I told him where to find the numbers as its not obvious. What he had I believe was never raced but one IROC put together for their 25th anniversary and happened to paint it orange red which by coincidence just happened to be the same colour as the one Dale Earhardt qualified in but never actually raced, he was asking $100,000 for the car, ambitious!. The last one to drive my car in the States was all time NASCAR record hold Buddy Baker. I also have video of it including in car (its a beige colour unfortunately) of the car narrowly avoiding Mario Andretti who managed to spin and take out half the field, I think it was Al Unser driving mine, its on one of those Havoc videos and Jackie Stewart is commentating. What model cars does you mate have is it the later 3rd gens?

Mine is the beige car on the rear of the transporter at Riverside on their debut. (IMG:http://www.cadart.com/Images/IROC%203.jpg)

My buddy has two 74s...and he told me that the Banjo cars were all 78s according to his information. I should get you two together so ya'll can discuss as he has done a TON or research on these cars and has a lot of documentation (including stuff from Penske) also. Check your PMs (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
