I got this HANS 2nd hand from someone I know locally so I didn't have a choice in size. The HANS website doesn't list guidlines for what height/weight person should use what size it just said use what ever is most comfortable. Well I can say that this is just too big for me and doesn't feel as safe as I think it should so I'd like to get a smaller size.

I haven't done much research on what this is worth or even what a new one currently costs so I'm just throwing this out there to anyone looking at getting a size L soon, please talk to me first and maybe we can work something out (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'll try and get some pics up but here are some specs:

Model 20L Extra
Carbon Fiber
serial number V2OLE/06/01012
Date of manufacture March 2007

When I got it I couldn't even tell if it had been used and I've used it for 7 track days. It still looks brand new.

Stan - Something that a prospective buyer will ask about is SFI and/or FIA cert stickers - this one is old enough to need recertification unless it has an FIA sticker. HANS does the recert for a nominal fee.

from the NASA CCR
15.17.8 Head and Neck Restraint
Use of a head and neck restraint system or device, carrying an SFI 38.1 certification
label, is mandatory for all drivers as of July 2, 2008. References and information can be
found in “Appendix D,” section #29.0 of the CCR. Additionally, HANS brand devices with
FIA 8858-2002 or FIA 8858-2010 certification labels are acceptable in lieu of SFI 38.1
labels.

29.0 Appendix D
29.1 Head and Neck Restraint Systems
29.1.1 General
There is an up to date list of devices that are SFI 38.1 certified located here:
http://www.sfifoundation.com/manuf.html#38.1. If the device is not on this list it will not
fulfill the use mandate. As of April 1, 2012 all devices that have and SFI certification and
are more than five (5) years old should be sent back to the manufacturer for rectification
per SFI 38.1 specifications. Those devices that have an FIA certification, whether they
also have an SFI certification or not, are not required to be recertified.
