(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Hey I'll get to drive by the KY Speedway exit at least. I'm also going to miss the Peru Pro Solo when I pick her up from there. Anyways, I'll see you all sunday! Have fun with the Evo' (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) . I still have to seek vengence on the silver one (Eli) who squeaked past me by 1/2 a second when I was at KY Speedway last. Supposedly he cheats, but I don't know how to prove it, nor does he compete in KYR or CKR events. |

I don't know about cheating... but I think he said "turbo back exhaust" once. I am on my way out.. as soon as the wife is done packing the car. Cheer up, Rob, the "drag strip" section will be in Sunday's course too. It's the first time I've ever wished for 3.23 gears on an autocross course (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
BTW Brian, since you took several pics of my hitch and trailer, "don't do what I did". Putting the toolboxes on the back of the trailer was not one of my better ideas. It balances just right when loaded, but when 200 lbs of race wheels are removed from the front it becomes tail heavy. It will lift the trailer dolly right off the ground. This means I alway have to swap in ballast when I put the race tires away, and vice versa, which starts to get old. It's also why my street tires were neatly loaded on the trailer during the event. This winter I'll probably move the toolboxes to the front, and then place the wheels somewhere behind the toolboxes (wherever they need to be to balancce it). |

I meant to stop and talk to all the FBody drivers but I got there later then I wanted. See you guys there today if you are going. |

Wow, what a ride!
I really liked the Sunday course, and drove much better than I did on Saturday. I was never aggressive enough on the first slalom, and almost too aggressive on the second, but on my best run I nailed the 180 sweeper at the end of the "drag strip" straight and was just holdin' on with a big grin on my face. Somehow the combination of staring at the wall of steel posts before the dropoff and running out of gear at the end of the straight did a great job of reminding me not to brake too late (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) That was also the first course I've ever driven where I could really feel the T2R helping the car turn like Sam described (I've felt the lack of wheelspin all along (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ). I don't know if it was the course or changing the toe on Friday, but in several places a little gas would help bring the nose around without breaking the tail loose at all (OR plowing). But speaking of breaking the tail loose, I did almost get a little too intimate with the chain link fence outside the entrance to the straight (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) BTW Rob, I picked up your 1st place trophy. Congratulations! |

Thanks Sean. I was just upset over the my driving and the car. It feels perfect at the smooth courses we run, but horrible at KY Speedway. One event I ran there only went over a few bumps and I did much better. Yesterday's course however seemed to pick out every single bump and I was just along for the ride. The car just skated. I think the first thing to do is lessen the toe out and eventually raise it off the bumpstops. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
That upset me and lead to me overdriving the car-that was a lesson in itself. BTW, the next KYR event is supposedly Fort Knox. |

You're forgetting a few things:
1) You won. You and the car must not have been doing TOO bad. 2) Everyone else was hanging on through the bumps too. My fastest run was reminding me (on course!) of a Disney World ride called "Mister Toad's Wild Ride" based on the Disney film "Wind in the Willows". You probably do need to raise the nose and reduce the toe, but I don't think it was as bad as you think. First place on a fast but bumpy course is NOT going to feel like a Sunday cruise (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Yes, Cudnik in FS may have had an advantage with his soft springs and increased suspension travel. HOWEVER, he's a VERY good driver, and a course that fast is going to favor his LS1. |
