How do these compare to the Willwood kit. I have seen the 6 piston kit from them for around 1200.
Thanks Brad |

Very favorably. The question is what does the Wilwood kit get you that the SSBC kit doesn't (other than a higher price). They both install the same way, both use readily available race pad backing plates. The SSBC rotors are less costly than the separate hat/rotor arrangement the Wilwoods use. the SSBC kit comes complete, lines and all, Wilwoods don't.
6 pistons are overkill. With monoblock rotors flex is minimized to start with, which really helps reduce pad taper. The SSBC rotors are slotted only, Wilwoods are slotted and drilled. Drilling, aside from leaving nice places for cracks to start, also somewhat reduces the swept area the pad can contact. I can't give you 400 reasons why you should go this way vs. Wilwood. Wilwoods are very nice. So are the SSBC's. You don't win awards @ SEMA for junk. Junk doesn't come with Stainless Steel piston, full dust seals, etc. It comes down to bang for the buck.
