I have a 1995 Firebird with the standard 15.5 gallon (not 1LE) gas tank. I have never "pushed it" in terms of low fuel loads with racing/autocrossing. This weekend, it may make sense to push it.

How low can you go? I am thinking that 3 gallons is a lower limit, but this is pure speculation on my part.

My '02 would cut out with a 1/3 tank in long sweepers on the road course.

Between 1/3 and 1/2 tank my 97 will cut out. Right handers are worse than left.

Great. I'm running a 12-turn road course this weekend. 8 of the turns are right-handers...

I'd have to say nothing less than 1/2 of a tank on a road course.

I guess my original approach has been right. Fill 'er up before a session. ...darn, I really could use the weight reduction.
