I noticed in my Oct "Chevy High Performance" a remote turbocharger from STS turbo. It replaces the muffler (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) and has the airfilter just inside of the left rear wheel. I've never seen one before, but they claim a 96 rwhp increase with 5 pounds of boost. It ain't my cup of tea, but it looks good. Check them out at www.ststurbo.com.

One of my friends down here was going to be one of the LS1 test cases (01' Trans Am) this spring. He backed out after they insisted on charging him full retail price for their then experimental, unproven kit (cut price on installation only, but full price on the parts).

While I'm sure they've gotten someone to do their testing with since then, it kind of left a bad taste - I consider it fair and reasonable to offer a break to someone who's taking a risk with something new and lending you their car for a week for development..

Nonetheless, the idea is cool. I like the idea of "free" intercooling with the long intake run, but wonder how much energy is lost in the long exhaust run. While drag racers (like my friend) probably wouldn't worry about lag too much, since he could brake boost his automatic at the line, I wonder how appropriate it is for road racers.

Looks like the same kit, a Canadian option at least.
