Hey, I don't know about everybody else, but I think it would be really cool to have a pics section on the site. We could just do a pic thread, but it would be nice to have a section on the site for pics of member cars. Maybe even pics with a description of the car if people are interested. It would be a good reference for others that might be looking for someone with experience with particular mods or something of the sort. Not trying to add work or anything for you guys runnin' this thing. Thoughts?

Well, since you asked for thoughts I'd say what you've done, such as show a link to pics of your car and have one as your avatar is enough.
BTW, is that a driver's adjustable rear swaybar in your car? That is nice. There's a LOT of work that LG must have put into that car. It looks like a stock torque arm though at first glance? |

I see your point. I was just thinking that not everybody has a website to post pics and info on. Those image hosting deals are ok I guess, but kind of a pain. I wouldn't suggest this right away, its really something just to think about implementing down the road. And yes, it is a driver adjustable rear sway bar. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) The torque arm is stock, but it has a lot of reinforcing plates welded on it for increased stiffness...you know, I should weigh that thing, it probably weighs a ton. Another place I can still shed some weight on this car... |

I was down in Texas earlier this year visiting a friend and we went to TWS for a weekend. I was admiring all those fbods there, and I remember seeing your car. |

Gary....I can tell you the STOCK torque arm weighs a ton....THAT must weigh TWO TONS (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)
Can you get some pics/info on how that driver adjustable sway bar works.....I would like to "challenge" my fabricator.....he seems bored! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I'll try to get some better pics of the sway bar setup. One of the arms of the sway bar is a "blade" that can rotate in relation to the direction of the force on the sway bar. The flatter it is, the more it can flex, and the "softer" the sway bar. This arm is rotated using a linkage that is actuated by a push/pull knob. |

QUOTE (ESPCamaro @ Dec 31 2003, 08:04 AM) I think it's great we got two AI/AIX guys on here. Don't forget about Keith O. He just bought a blue '95 Firebird AI car too and will be racing in the OH/IN region. Tony Rose should also be in our region this year in a black Firebird in AI. We may have the most F bodies in AI of any region in '04. |

Gary,
I took another look at your web page and saw how the driver adjustable system works...pretty slick. Any idea of the diameter of the sway bar in the pic....almost looks like a stock 19mm cut to a straight with the ends welded on. Can you get a pic of the control mechanism? Do you know what it is/who makes the control? Thanks |

I have a suggestion, How about combining the Tech section forums? There seems to be low enough volume and most/all of the people here read all the forums anyway. I'd rather just browse all those topics in one forum instead of jumping across all of them.
I like the way the LS1.com/Camaroz28.com forums were. All the discussions under one handly link. I'm interested in reading just about everything that comes up. My guess is everyone else probably does too, considering this site is targeted at a very specific group. |

I just use "View New Posts" on the top of the page so I cut across all forums. I don't mind it with separate AX/RR forums or joint though. There are some differences in the kind of things a RR is concerned with vs. AX but until the board gets a little bigger it couldn't hurt.

I think it might be useful to have a Rules/Tech inspection of some sort, where we can define the gray areas or the finer points of rule interpretation

Maybe the site already has this and I havent figured out how to use it, but I would like an "automatic notification" via email that someone has responded to a post. Just makes life a little easier than digging through the site trying to find all of the threads that you have posted in.

This may not be as automated as you would like, but toward the upper right of each page is a link, “Track this topicâ€. If you click it, you will receive an email every time someone has posted in that thread, even if you have not posted yourself.
I am still hoping that we can get the "location" activated in the left column since everyone isn't putting it in their sig. |
