Just found out what the new addition to the family is today. I don't know wheather to be exited or in fear for my life yet. If she is anything like her mother was as a teenager, well you get the idea.

anyways, just thought I would share.

I will properly lock her up for her teenage years and feed her through a slot in the door...

Congratulations and good luck. For 8 years, it was me against the wife and daughter (until my son came along). I was outnumbered and ended up getting a dog. ...come to think of it, that dog is still my best friend.

Congrats

Hahahaha, thats funny.

Being one of the younger folks in this group, I also pray for your soul. I also think feeding her through a slot in the door is a great idea.

Congrats! Baby seat in the SS...?

Congrats!

I can easily say my baby girl is the best thing ever happened in my life. The past 7 months has been some of my happiest days. If I could, I'd work from home to be with her all the time. I actually don't think about my car before going to sleep now.

You'll have a good time!

No where to put a baby seat in the SS. My roll cage takes up alot of room. Not to mention it is a no interior car, no heater car, no AC car. that and the boom tube isnt kid friendly.

Well we have a 3yo little wrecking machine that keeps us pretty busy right now. So I am hoping this one will help settle him down a bit.

I think I need to get a dog.

Even with thousands of dollars worth of dental work to get a nice, straight white pearly smile, they can still knaw their way through a door like a damn beaver ... trust me ...

I've also noted places in the concrete foundation where it appeared they were plotting an escape, just like Clint Eastwood in Alcatraz.

Don't get me wrong ... I love my daughters. But the 20 years I spent parenting that was jr. high and high school is a sentence I would not wish on anyone ... and remember this is Texas, a death penalty state ...

I remember a buddy of mine and I used to joke about if we ever had kids they would be girls. As punishment for the crap we did....

He has a little girl. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif) (who got in trouble at daycare for kissing a boy at age 2)
And luckily I had a little boy.

I know my wife will want a little girl eventually........

I just hope to not get to be that guy walking around with 5 sons because of trying for a girl. Or worse yet how would you like to be the guy with 5 daughters????

CONGRATS.

My youngest son is turning 12 and my oldest son is 18 which I'm ready to take his ass to the recruters office... too much pus.... um girls in his brain and not concentrating on school. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif)

Congrats ! I've got a 9 yr old boy and a 6yr old girl. The girl will surprise you with how close you become to her.

My boy could care less about the car, my girl is the one who helped me put on the shocks. Always like that, she just wants to hang with Dad.

Love 'em both more than anything, I don't even yell when they put a scratch on the car (although they have always been told their entire lives to never touch it with their fingers).

Enjoy !

What is your due date? Ours is Dec 23. I have money on the Wife saying it's time to go on Christmas eve, and it'll be born on Christmas day.

The Wife wasn't amused that, if it is a boy, I wanted to name it Levon, after the Elton John song (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rant.gif)

Our first and probably last. At this point, after two years in Doctors' care, we'd be happy with a healthy, Holy Terror of either sex. Best Christmas present we could ask for.

Congrats on the new addition.

I have two of those addorably cute girls.....but I so dread the teenage years, that I might have to be committed to a mental institution the closer I get to that day.

I am trying to learn from Mitch and his experiences. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

Congrats!
The pride and satisfaction of having kids goes way, way BEYOND that of what I have accomplished with cars, or anything else for that matter. I have two boys, ages 5 and 2 with another child on the way (June). All my female family members are praying for a girl!!!!!

Awesome stuff. We have a new pit crew member on the way as well (too early to tell if we get a boy or a girl). Its good to see guys finding the balance between work, family, and cars (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Personally...I'm a little scared about the whole thing...but I guess that's part of the deal (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

<grin> You all need to be thankful you don't have me as a sibling. I am the Uncle of parents nightmares. One simple example.

Like any good uncle, I've made sure my nieces and nephews know how to punch. Yes, girls and boys, no exceptions.

One of my sister's 3.5 year old son was just kicked out of preschool cause he gave the teacher a bloody nose. One of the proudest days of my life.

My sister, on the other hand, is not too pleased. I have, however, reimbursed her the prepaid $130 that the Preschool would not refund.

What I always find ironic is when they tell me to just wait till I have my own kids. IF I ever do have any kids of my own (and that's a big if, for a variety of reasons), I will treat them exactly the same as I treat all my nieces and nephews. That is to say, I will love them, I will respect them, and I will do everything necessary to make sure they are as independant and self-reliant as they need to be. I have absolutely NO sheltering instincts whatsoever.

Congrats, and best of wishes.

Everyone used to tell me the same thing, however.....

I've already (we've already?) come to the conclusion that we will not be adding any kids to the household. My wife is a Child Protective Services Worker (Social worker). That has pretty much fixed any thoughts of that.
