I'm looking for an LT1 engine, preferrably in the Southern California area, ideally just down the street from me (although I have little hopes of that). We won't have our engine back until January, so I want an engine to drop into place until then to fit up the extra crap we're doing. Once we get the original engine back I'll swap them out and probably cm and head the spare in case we blow something up during the season. So, if anyone has a lead on something please let me know.

Jason

I bought a spare short block off ebay to use for a rebuild for about $200. It was about $100 shipping by truck freight IIRC. There are similar deals on there most all the time I believe. You could also try something like http://web.camaross.com/forums/ and look in your region forum. There are pretty frequent postings of just what you're looking for in my region. I'd have to assume the LA area has at least as many offerings.
