Ok, I'm going to do two things:
1. I'm putting seats on "sale" 7.5% off. You have your choice of either Corbeau or Sparco for those that want options. For example, that makes a $599 Sparco seat $554.07. It takes a $249 Corbeau to $230.32. We'll see if I get another threat from Corbeau about pricing. Since I'm only posting here and one other place it'll be quite easy to figure out who's bitching. 2. If I can get at least 7 people in, I can do something on the Canton Oil Pans. I don't care what they have or what they need (could be a Mustang ) they get included. So tell your open track, road race, or drag friends. BTW, Canton does have an LS1 oil pan now as well. |

what's the time frame on this sale ?
which ones you suggest for me ? I want them to be leather, as close a match of colour to the rest (triple-black SS) I would want place for 5-pt, and want adjustable seats. Looking for great quality/support/confort. |

Sparco only makes the Milano Prestige in Leather. You can check it out here: http://www.sparcousa.com/pseats_street.asp?id=503
List is $1399, which would make your price $1294.07 a seat. Corbeau's TRS can be seen here: http://www.corbeau.com/products/trs/trs.shtml# $539 - 7.5% would be $498.57 a seat. Corbeau also makes the VX-2000 in leather: http://www.corbeau.com/products/vx2000/vx2000.shtml# It's $649 list, so $600.32 each on sale. That's it for leather seats that aren't special order. Please note that you can get all the other Corbeau seats like the A4, CR1, Legacy in leather as well. Though they aren't stocked that way, and it adds $300 and 6-8 weeks. I can also get you Cobra seats. Go to www.subesports.com to see those. Some of those, the LeMans, Daytona, Opus, and Sidewinders are special order available in leather, though not particularly inexpensive. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I can't really say which would be best for you, as it's very personal. I know Kevin had TRS's and didn't particularly care for them, but I have other customers who really like them. Best thing I can recommend it to pring the seating dimention charts and study them. Maybe even compare them to the stock seat.... I'll leave you with this thought. You can't really go wrong with Sparco, but you pay for that too. I'll also add I know a number of smaller folks who like the A4. But it's not near big enough for me. For this group, I'll do this 7.5% off thing until the end of the month/year. I can't say I've ever seen a street/adjustable seat with a provision for the sub-belts.
Not sure it exists. The info on the websites is basically all the information I have available. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

QUOTE Sam, Do you know if any of those company manufacture a seat that is adjustable, and has provisions a sub belt? If you are talking about the hole in the bottom of the seat for the belt to go through I had a seat in my old autoX car modified for the sub belt and it only cost me $40 at a local interoir shop. They cut the hole, stitched the seat cover so the cover wouldn't crack, and made a small plastic insert so I wouldn't rub a hole in the seat. |

Sam, with corbeau seats, can you sell them in singles, ie just a drivers side seat? I have seen places that claim if you order 1 seat they can't tell you which side you will get.
Thanks.... oh and just as refrence, how much is a drivers side corbeau slider for an f-body? |

Sure, if you are getting a seat that actually has a left and right side application. The part numbers are different for the seats that are like that. As long as you/I order the proper seat you'll get that seat. Can't imagine what kind of weed those folks are smoking. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) The seat bracket is $72.61...... |

Corbeau will add provisions for a sub belt for $40.00. I had a pair of the TRS leather ordered that way.
For a street driven car, I don't recommend the sub belt slot, I continually set small items (wallet and keys are good examples) in my lap that fall through! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif) With my custom brackets putting the seat less than a hand's width off the floor, it takes an act of congress to retrieve these items. The seats are of fairly good quality, the leather is sturdy, thick,, and evenly dyed, and the fit for my 6 foot, 190 pound frame is snug and comfortable, even on 250 mile trips. I read about the height issue Kevin and others mention for this seat in F-bodies prior to my purchase. I modded the drivers side seat bracket to lower it a good 1 1/2". I could have engineeded a better solution, as while the positioning is perfect for me, installing the seat was a roayal pain in the 12mm flat ratchet. Tony |

never mind, the Speeds with vinyl look cheap in terms of leather.
The sport leather looks great. 2x Recaro Sport leather or 2x Corbeau TRS leather. How do these compare to Sparco Milano leather ? found this pic of Recaro leather in a stang, though. (IMG:http://www.recaro-seats.com/seat%20g2.jpg) |

QUOTE (Eugenio_SS @ Dec 3 2004, 09:56 AM) any pix of the fabbed rails ? would you be wiiling to fab other ones like yours ? The drivers and passengers brackets are different. For the drivers side, basically all I did is pound the front two mounting tabs flat, (they have an offset bend) and cut off the two rear mounting tabs (which raise the rear 1 1/2 - 2 inches) Then I redrilled the bracket in the rear for the outer mounting stud and cut off the inner stud. In its place I drilled a hole through the bracket and tophat shaped stamping in the floor. To the side of the hole in the stamping, I dremelled a largish slot through which I could insert a bolt and get an open end wrench on it. The difficulty here is getting all the bolts tight! The outer rear stud was shortened, so as not to damage the leather. I think what I ended up doing is taping a nut and washer under each hole in the bracket, bolting the sliders to the seat, thn bolting the sliders to the bracket in situ. I tried several other combinations, but this worked best. YMMV, Tony |

sat down in a SRD today... and really liked it... perfect size on kidney and leg support... but find the holes for the belt just atad under my shoulders.
the thing is that the SRD is discontinued (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) the guy wanted to push selling the remaining 2... yeah right. anyways... looking (comparing) at the diagrams from the SRD to the Sports... RECARO SRD: (IMG:http://www.recaro-seats.com/images/SRD%20Dimensions.jpg) RECARO SPORT: (IMG:http://www.recaro-seats.com/recaro%20sport%20dimensions.jpg) This actually tells me that the sport, as shown in the specs will offer basically no leg support and offer way less kidney support... so I won't be going with them... now just need to compare the data with SRD and Corbeau TRD to know if we have a winner. |

comparing the Recaro SRD and Corbeau TRS:
Recaro SRD: (IMG:http://www.recaro-seats.com/images/SRD%20Dimensions.jpg) Corbeau TRS: (IMG:http://www.corbeau.com/products/trs/1_02.jpg) (IMG:http://www.corbeau.com/products/trs/5_02.jpg) makes you wish they had more detailed information... all the values are from Corbeau TRS (compared to Recaro SRD) kidney = 19.5" = 49.5cm (compared to 52.0cm) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) shoulder = 21" = 53.3cm (compared to 58.0cm) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) since the SRD lacked a tad shoulder support. width = 20.5" = 52.1cm (compared to 53.2cm) height = 36" = 91.4cm (compared to 94.1cm @ 25' torsoline) Anyway... imho, the belt holes are pretty much at same location if comparing the 2. I think I'll be going with the Corbeau leather. Now the question is: how close a match is the leather color with our color leather ? |

From what I have seen, if you have ebony leather interior, the corbeau's will be darker. I don't think it will look bad if you replace both fronts. I am probably going with 1 legacy front seat, black cloth (if it isn't going to be the same color as the rest of the interior, why bother trying :-) ) .
I will most likely only keep the seat in the summer, in the off season I don't see any reason to add wear to it..... yes I am stuck in buffalo with only a camaro :-) . Does anyone have any input on the legacy? |
