Well, the good news is I got the engine in and installed. It runs real well and I didn't have any hiccups after the re-install, although I only have 7 miles on it right now.
Anyway, When looking at the front wheels something clearly is amiss. The drivers side front seems to stick out 1/4-1/2" farther than the passenger side. see pics Keep in mind I haven't had an alignment done yet and the swaybar isn't installed. When I put it all back together I used new poly suspension bushings (both A-arms), and new lower ball joints. I also added the LS1 brake conversion including spindles, hubs, rotors, calipers, and brackets from the donor car. I also replaced the passengers side lower A-arm, I thought it was slightly damaged but was not certain. I was thinking of loosening all the K-member bolts and trans mount bolt and trying to pull the whole assembly to the pass side. oh, when I changed the engine I dropped it from the bottom and completely disassembled every component in the front. The wheels are 17x9.5" C4 corvette wheels w/ 275/17 hoosiers. I will probably pull the wheels back off and check every thing out. Needless to say, I wasn't expecting this issue. ideas? |
