Bought my new tires last week from Tire Rack. This week they're on sale for $25 less per tire than I paid... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

It could never hurt to call them and see if they will give you some credit or something. All they can do is say no (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

That stinks. I hate when stuff like that happens. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Which tires were they? $25 off/tire could make someone else happy! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I bought Sumitomo'ds 315/35-17's. I really like the tires, great grip. But I sure could have used that extra $100.

Very true! Many places offer 15-30 day price protection. If you talk to them and plea a case there's no reason they wont give you the difference. Especially when you're buying as much a tire as you are. Just speak to a manager and only take no for an answer after 2 people in management say no (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I watch this happen at my work all the time... I'm just a lowly salesman tho (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I would call them. thats happened to me several times and 80% of the time the vendor will credit you. They want to keep you as a customer.

That's the unfortunate part of most sales reps these days - not too many honest ones left out there.

Say he tells you to wait a week for the sale, so you can save that $100. Now you feel much better about the transaction and will be more apt to tell you friends to buy their tires from him. However....that didn't happen and now they have left you feeling ripped off. NOT a good way to get repeat business, IMO.

Just an update...

I would like to thank Tire Rack for giving me a $100 credit on my order!!!!!! I never even called them (I don't know if Steve Jackson had anything to do with this but we PM'd each other once or twice about it, if so, thanks greatly Steve!!!!).

I can't think of a better place to buy tires ANYWHERE! This is about my 6th or 7th order with them and I've never been disappointed.

So if you need tires, use Tire Rack and click on the advertiser link above!!!

I went into your acount and noticed you hadn't called in yet. I just told our office manager to issue a credit on your card. Glad I could help.

I got so busy that I totally forgot to call on Monday. I'm very glad you remembered for me!!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) Like I said, it's the great customer service that I've had over the years with Tire Rack that keeps me coming back.

Another example was when I ordered these tires. TR sent me an email AND a phone call to confirm the fact that I knew these tires (315's) might have clearance problems and whether I still wanted them. I think most people would just get you tires and not think twice about what vehicle it was really going on.

Thanks again to you Steve. I owe you one!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
