... while sitting out the snow that's falling and playing GT3 on PS2, I was cruising around my computer and found a Lap of Watkins Glen from a couple of years ago on my ext HD, when I had the old camera system Kinda cool.

Mike- Damn you, I'm sitting here watching my Z-28 slowly dissappear under the snow and you have to remind me of the fun we can't have until May. I thought I was OK with winter until this. Now I have to find a way control my off season withdrawl symptoms until I can at least get the car unburied so I can work on it. Imagine what The Glen must look like today, white with blue edging. Oh well, it's only 12 weeks until I go to Summit Point and 16 weeks until It's The Glen again. I can last, I think... Thanks for the video memory. :drive: (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)

.. heh, heh. I'm having the same time sitting here watching the snow come down.

After I shovel the driveway, I'll torture myself with some incar from SWC at Road Atlanta.

Yeah, it's snowing here pretty hard too. Luckily the car is in the garage on jackstands! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Funny---I was thinking about playing some more GT3 on the PS2 today. I'm still waiting for GT4 to come out.....and nobody really knows when other than Q1 2005. Maybe I'll work on updating my webpage today too. They're talking about 16-24" here now in NJ. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Good thing for the new truck tires.

All this snow really sucks... especially since I had to use the Formula last week and the cover was wet when I took it off. I keep the cover in the shed and it's probably been frozen since so I didn't want to crack it by recovering the car. So now I'll have to clean the snow off and then wash the car before I can get the cover back on it!!

But here are some videos of my first Thridgen... tell me if you recognize the track in the background.

We could get some dry ice and a cooler and mail you a jar of it if it would make you feel any better.

"Shippin' snow to Texas."

It was in his yard. I remember the photos. It snowed at Mitch's place once last year as I remember.

I havn't really driven my car since august! I am dedicating this coming summer as the summer of maro tho. Nothing will come before it!

Nice vids guys, thx.

I too have been playing GT3 heavily this week and am anticipating GT4. Especially excited since they're releasing it with the '88 IROC concept car in the game. Probably slow as a dog but handle like a lotus. What are you guys using as your primary car for GT3. I'm enjoying a 811hp Z06. Eats up soft tires in a lap but so far I can beat anything with it(GT1 cars). I've yet to race the Panoz I want so badly tho.

In my GT3 garage, the car with the most milege is the 720 hp, all adjutable, bright red Camaro SS, that also eats soft tires, loves to 4 wheel drift if pressure isn't released from the right foot in time and holds its own with the GT cars. I still love the Rally cars, too.

I of course like driving the Camaro in GT3, but there are so many other nice cars in the garage too. One of my best all around cars is the Mazda 787B. That thing is fast and handles! Last night I tweaked the SS to the weights, hp, susp, and brake specs of my own car and did some laps around Apricot Speedway with Medium-soft race tires.

I put the same tires on a Viper GTS (stock), a tweaked Motorsport Elise, and a BMW 328i.

Camaro time was around 1:30
Viper GTS was around 1:29-1:30
Motorsport Elise around 1:26
BMW 328i around 1:45

Pretty impressive that a $23k camaro with about $10k in tweaks is about the same as a $75k Viper GTS. Not sure how accurate the game is, but I think it's realistic....and at least it's with the same driver. The Lotus is light, has 344hp, and DOWNFORCE!

In GT1 or GT2, I had the race Camaro. I never could figure out how to get it in GT3. I did every race, but never got the race version. I think I'll do a search for it now.

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) ...........More $$$$ for the season. At least that's what I tell myself when I have had enough!..

Nice vid (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

mazda 787B is quite the impressive automobile....i like it more than the toyota gt-one car, which i believe actually makes more power.

the tommykaira zzII is an incredible car. 4wd, gobs of power, and i love the way it handles. as for no matter how much money i could sink into a skyline, i don't think i'll ever like driving one in gt3.

i've had multiple z06's at different levels of modification on that game and loved driving them all. if you all want, you can go do a search for "gran turismo 3 challenge" on camaroz28.com (lounge of course), and you'll see some fun some guys (including myself) had with some stock american cars on laguna seca.

Since we were talking about GT4 and PS2 in this post....I figured I'd update. Yesterday Sony finally announced the release date of GT4.---February 22nd! That's not too much more waiting when it's been 4 years!

What do you guys think about redoing a GT3 challenge right here at Frrax???

We could have 2-3 classes(Stock Camaro, Open Camaro and Open anything), do one track a week for best lap times.

I think we have enough people for it to be interesting at least.

I think it might be best to keep the F1 car out of the running tho.
