So... I just moved out to the SF Bay area from Ithaca, NY...
And I've been slacking on getting my car registered, because I'm a slacker. It's passed smog with flying colors every time I've owned it, but... Now it's misfiring like crazy and a plug wire seems to be arcing. You can hear it zap and the car shudders immediately afterward, so I figure that's a rather clear explanation. Scan shows it's cylinder 7, and I tried yanking the plug boot off and reseating it, and it's no better (worse, if anything. yay me.). So, unfortunately, I live in an apt complex now, and have no facilities to do a wire change, even if I did have the skills to pull that off. So I'm looking for either recommendations of shops to take it to, or, even better, some wonderful person who has nothing better to do than help me with my plug wires. Randy, I'm looking at you! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Unfortunately, I can't pay much, which is putting me in a whole other bind. The whole "I just moved out and furnished an apartment" is kind of killing me. So please, help! Some suggestions would be wonderful. The car is getting worse by the day... but the good thing about this is it survived 94k very hard miles on the original wires and 87k on the original plugs (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Thanks, Dan |
