 Thinking about seats - fitment question |

Well, I'm thinking about selling my stock leather T/A seats (w/ inflatable lumbar and side bolsters). For what the going market price is about now, I can grab a pair of Corbeau Forza's or similar "beginner" seat.
My question is, can this be mounted using some easily custom fabbed pieces, or does it require the one's they sell? I'll be selling the stock rails, probably, so I'll have a bare floor. I'm hoping that I can simply use the stock bolts coming through the floor, along with some kind of steel/aluminum bar and just bolt it in. I'm not worried about the thing sliding forward and back, or tilting. I think I can get all those things taken care of in the mounting. Anyway, what do I need to know about these that I don't know (I don't know much)? I'm not looking for much of a weight savings - I need to keep my butt planted! |

Might be helpful. http://frrax.com/rrforum/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=3795 The sliders on the Corbeau CR1 seats are closer together than the bolts coming out of the floorboard. So the bracket gives you a place to bolt the sliders to, that also fits the existing bolts (studs) coming out of the floorboard. Some people have made up their own. You have to get the right side to side alignment too so a door, door bar, and/or console or tunnel don't interfere with the seat. That's no biggie, it's just another dimension to manage on fabbing your bracket. |

Cool - thanks for the pics! I'm pretty sure that I'm up to the task of making my own. Or, depending on the seat bolt configuration, I may simply bolt them straight to the floor. No one else drives my car (maybe once per year does anyone even sit in it), so the driver's seat won't move. And, I'll simply put the passenger seat well back from the dash.
