I have removed my ABS. As a result I have a "ABS INOP" light on the dash. The engine tuning guy tells me this is controled by the Body Control Modual and there is nothing he can do about it. Anyone know how to turn this off?

Also my "BRAKE" light is on. I've messed with the switch at the E-brake under the console but no effect. Could this light be on as a secondary type warning to go with the ABS light?

When I pulled my ABS, I had the same thing. Just remove your gauge cluster, and pull the light bulb for it. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)

Seriously.

As far as I remember, they were both on when I had a bad speed sensor.

LS1 edit can't do anything with the BCM? If not, pull the lamp.

Seriously.

I can't speak for all the LS1 cars, but on my 01 TA, the bulb cannot simply be pulled. Most of the bulbs, (ABS INOP included) are surface mounted on the printed circuit board that is the guage cluster. I guess you could snip the wire on either end of the bulb, but after getting that far into the assembly, I choked and put it all back together.

Yes, sorry, I should have specified that.

For what it's worth, I don't even have the wiring in the car anymore. The speed sensors aren't even hooked up any more.

Ah I see. I know with mine (93-96) Gauge cluster, the bulbs are all just in a socket style setup. Just twist and pull.
