I heard about it from my mom who saw it on the news. She called me to tell me about it... as she usually does with anything aviation related. The information I received was that it was caused by a wind shear... and that both the captain and first officer are alive, which afaik is quite rare in transport aircraft.

I hope for the best for all the passengers. But at the same time, it looks like Airbus' record as of late is becoming quickly tarnished.

ah, latest from CC.com is that the plane got struck by lightning just after landing and lost all power (yay for Airbus electronics).
