Hey guys....I did a search first with little success. I'd like to put an aftermarket steering wheel in. (Momo, Sparco, Grant, etc.) What diameter should I get and what offset to keep it in the same place as the stock wheel? I'm sure someone knows the right models. My seat is fixed, so I don't want the wheel to be much closer or further away than it currently is.
Want to get rid of that ugly and heavy stock wheel with the nut and horn wires exposed from where the airbas used to be! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Oh, and I know there is the Billingslye dummy cover....but I don't want that. |

I have the Momo Competition wheel with their adapter on my car. It is a tad bit smaller in Diameter (I think the stock is 14" and this is 13.8"), and the wheel grips are thicker. I do not think it changed the position of the wheel much if at all. The only thing I didn't screw with was hooking up the horn so I don't have horns on the car. |

I have an '89 Firebird steering wheel on my car and it works well and still looks good because it was the last year before air bags. Not sure if it'd fit on a 4th gen though. Not as pretty as aftermarket, but definitely a lot easier on the wallet. |

I swapped to a Grant Corsa GT, number 1022. The leather is more gray than in the picture and it has a smaller diameter than the stock wheel. I noticed it moved closer to the turn signal wand so it's within finger reach now. It looks a TON better than the factory wheel because it is smaller too.

Can't help you with offset because I moved my seat back as far as I could and still reach the pedals.
I then used spacers to move the wheel pretty darn close. But my steering wheel is a 13" Momo. I got it off eBay for $20 ... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) |

I have a Sparco Ring (leather not the suede one) and absolutely love it. I love it so much its currently installed in my brothers Integra for this Saturdays night autocross event (first event for the Integra and Camaro is down at the moment and being 'upgraded'.... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) The horns weren't hard to do for either car, just easier to do on the integra (1 wire setup in Integra verses 2 wire setup for camaro). I believe the Sparco Ring sits in the same position (maybe just a tad farther) as the stock one but so much better in control and grip. Plus I like the flat bottom of the wheel (useful for quick wheel position indication and control as well.) The grain pattern also matches the camaro's dash texture almost exactly too! I just wish I could put one in my Tacoma but it's my daily driver (with stupid airbag big diameter wheel... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) ). |

470-1064 I used #470-1064 with the third gen adapter. They're fake leather unlike the real leather version that slowta posted-I'm just cheap. The factory wheel is suck a squishy, huge toy compared to a decent aftermarket wheel. It's spaced out a little bit closer than the factory wheel and is smaller in diameter. The feel is great compared to the factory wheel. Of course if you could score a deal on a wheel like mitch did then do so! |

I honestly like the look of the Momo and Sparcos over the Grants. I want it to be light, comfortable and relatively close in distance from it's current position. I don't care about the horn. I just don't want to mess with moving the seat around. I have Kirkey Aluminums that can be moved into 2 spots with my custom fabbed aluminum brackets. I've tried both distances at multiple angles and am only happy where it is now with racing shoes on.....so I don't want to mess with it.

I bought one from Bobby Archer Motorsports.
Cost was about $100 ... It has a standard 3 bolt steering wheel mount and they also sell a 3 bolt to 6 bolt adaptor for a Momo. |

Grant part number 3021, obviously made to work with their wheels. Not legal since it doesn't have provisions for a horn.

It was a bolt on ... used the stock spline and a supplied nut. Attaches just like stock.
You will probably have to call ... |
