I recently came across a former nascar display chassis of Mark Martin and the Viagra car. It is a roller with fully painted sheet metal, is movalble on race tires, has no engine, tranny, fuel cell, Blahahahh. A company had it on display at one of there local malls and went bankrupt/closed. The mall gave the manger a remove it now or else. So he did.

Well the price of this has been coming down to a point that they are just about giving it away in my opinion. SO what would you do? Try to sell it too someone to make a race chassis out of(Lots of unkown's) or try to market it to a Mark Martin Fan and a real full size collectble. Any guidence you could give would be helpful!! Thanks John O

Is it a roadrace chassis or oval-only? Lots of difference in chassis design between the two track styles, especially with Roush cars. If you can find out what chassis number it is call the Roush shop and see if that car ever spent any time on a track. That will help determine its overall worth.

Go to www.musclemotorparts.com and surf there; they will have lots of ex-NASCAR components for reasonable prices, and will even assemble a Cup-style engine (any brand).

Another question. Why did it become a display? Did the chassis just get outdated or was it in a horrible wreck and just cobbled together for a show car?

You really have to watch the show car stuff. Most of the shops will make it very apparrent that it wasn't made to be a race car by either using smaller tubes or welding it such that its almost impossible to drive.

If you were just going to have it on display....sure go for it...if you want to drive it....find someone that is familiar with the car and/or chassis and make sure that it is a safe car.

Guys this car would not be for my use. I don't have the time/money right now to even consider trying to make it go.
I'll have to get some pic's next wk. I'll see if I can track down any chassis number's and give Jack a Call (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) .

For the price I can get it for I might just stick it on ebay and take my chances. Some Nascar fan might want a fullsize collectable.. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) I'll see what info I can track down first though. Please keep you suggestions coming.. John

I'll paraphrase a word of advice that I can never seem to follow: "The best way to double your money is to fold it in half and stick it back in your pocket".

Buy it and rent it out to local bars or beer distributors. There are several people that do this around town and it generates lots of attention.

As easy as graphics are today it's cheap enough to bake that into your rental cost to the bar and change it up a couple of times a year.

You don't even have to take it off the trailer.
